I keep trying to get back to an update every month and here we are doing three at once. A lot has gone on since April, and I’m thankful for all that the Lord has done and is doing. In the midst of the difficulties of missions, God is at work, and there are many blessings! Life is continuing with construction, teaching, and everything else that’s been the norm for our ministry! God is growing His church, and has provided a new property for us to call our own and begin building! It’s a blessing to see what the Lord is doing.
April: “Spending time in the City of God”
Last time I was writing my update letter, we had just finished our time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil serving with a ministry in one of the favelas called “City of God”. It was eye-opening in many ways. It had it’s sobering moments, but the Lord had His hand on every one of them, and I am blessed to have been able to be a part of what God is doing there. 5 of us left from Trujillo, Perú via bus to catch our flight in Lima to meet up with the team from our campus in Brazil, and man were we excited. We got to Lima not too long before the rest of the team, and got settled in before meeting up in the favela. We had 3 solid days of ministry opportunity at a project within the City of God where some local women and pastors have gotten together to give Jesus to the children of the favela through Capoeira and Jiu-jitsu. The give them a meal, and share a teaching from the Word. While we were there we did kids programs, served food, painted, did plumbing and some other construction and more. It’s a huge blessing to see the fruit of 7 years of faithfulness in a place that can hold a lot of brokenness. Please be praying for this ministry in the City of God as our hope one day is to help plant a church there with some other locals who are currently attending the CBI here in Perú.
May: “Graduation and Semester End”
Every semester it seems to get harder and harder to see these students graduate and leave. Students who I’ve known since their first semester have finished their time here at CBI Perú and now they’re off to walk in what the Lord has for them. It’s been such a blessing to see their growth and how the Lord has used their time here to mold and shape them more and more into His image. Please be praying for those who have graduated and are beginning to serve in the ministry whether it be back home or elsewhere; that they would find open doors and be equipped for every good work for the glory of His name. In that please pray for our incoming students in this semester to come as we’re going to have a lot of new faces and hearts to be fostered and molded into the image of the Son. Please pray that we would follow the leading of the Spirit in all things and that we would be His hand’s and feet in the lives of those here at Calvary Trujillo and each student. That they would experience the love of Jesus being extended through us and that the Lord would use this time to reveal and propel towards the calling He has on their lives!
June: “A Joyful Surprise”
June has come to an end. Break has been in full swing. Winter is gearing up (hear in the southern hemisphere), and it has been a very exciting time as I’ve been prayerfully planning something quite big! My last update I gave you all a little spoiler about my lovely girlfriend Renata (in Portuguese it’s pronounced ‘Hey-nata’), but to give an even bigger update, I’m happy to announce that I asked her to be my bride early June and she said, “yes!” For those of you back home, I am so excited to introduce her to you all. As we plan and get ready to come back to the States I will keep you updated! Thank you for your prayers. The Lord has done such a wonderful work and I’m so blessed to have such a faithful woman of God by my side. We are very excited for all that the Lord has in store and to get to serve Him together as He leads.
A little bit from Renata:
“Como vai, I’m Renata. I’m from Brasil (Rio de Janeiro). I’m an architect who followed the Lord’s call to learn the Word of God and be a missionary, and the Lord has directed me to Perú to finish my studies at CBI Perú to serve in the church and community there.”
The Lord is helping us to get everything figured out to get married, and we are planning to be married in Rio; especially so we can be able to celebrate the big day with her family as well. Our hope is to have a reception in the States where you can all come and get to know her better. Please be praying for us as I’ll need to have different documents ready to get married legally in Brazil. In that, please pray for as speedy a process as possible for her to receive a visa to enter the U.S. so we can both be there to visit on our next furlough.
Prayer’s:
-Spending time well and for the glory of His name
-Discipling well the guys who are coming to the institute
-Being faithful in everything that the Lord has placed into my hands
-That the Lord would prepare me to lead well as a husband
-To continue to stir up the gifts that the Lord has given me
-The Lord’s provision for the both of us in this big life change
-Continued preparation for the new CBI in Argentina
Thank you all so much for your prayers, love, and support. Through His Word and by His Spirit He conducts surgery on our hearts, and what a wonderful, healing thing it produces in us. He is beyond good, He has a good plan and is absolutely working in every circumstance… I love this passage every time I read it. It’s a constant reminder to forsake any and all kinds of striving—any worrying of any kind. To remember that there will be consequences if I act out of it. Praise the Lord for His grace, for His mercy to teach us and show us that we are His and He is with us always in all things. We can trust His careful attention to everything that passes in our lives.
The last two months have flown by (few now that I get to post it), but here we are with another update. Last month we got back to Lima from a missions trip to Rio de Janeiro to help in the favela called: “City of God” with a ministry to children there that Calvary Chapel is involved with. It was a blessing, check out my April/May update to hear more about what the Lord did with our time in Brasil!
February
This semester started the 1st of February and and we’ve been working away doing construction and ministry. Being able to see al of the students back in the swing of things here at CBI Perú is a blessing. What a blessing to be apart of the work of discipleship, and evangelism that is going on here at Calvary Trujillo. God is good and it’s been amazing to see His faithfulness in growing the Church and ministry of Calvary Chapel Trujillo. Praise the Lord we were able to see things advance in Argentina as well. If you could be praying for Trujillo, there was a building collapse at one of the bigger malls in here and people died because of it. After hearing about it we wanted to go and minister to those affected and first responders with physical provisions, but also to give them the love of Jesus and pray with and give the Gospel to those there and affected. We were able to help distribute a lot of donated food and provisions to aid those who needed it. Please be praying for those who lost loved ones in this tragedy.
March
Last month was a blessing. We were getting ready to have a team from the States come out and help us with some construction (at this point the guys dorm is almost wrapped up—needs some paint and cabinets). We prepped to get things ready so the work could flow smoothly while the team was here. Man, they knocked it out of the park. CCRGV has been out to help us multiple times and it was a great time of fellowship. and a blessing to work alongside them. Leading up to their arrival, I was also preparing our team for going to Brazil. We left early April and the construction team arrived at the end of the month in March. In the midst of all of the busyness and the teams and special events it has been a blessing to go out and do evangelism with the students. We’ve been passing out tracts, teaching them how to street preach, and proclaim the Gospel. I’m blessed to see their boldness and willingness to go and make our Savior’s name known. There’s no greater name to serve and praise than our Jesus.
What’s next?
The papers for Argentina have been signed and the property is now ours! What does this mean? We are putting more effort into forming a team and begin more intentional planning. Please be praying for wisdom in that. I’m leading evangelism and helping run service hours this semester as well as wrapping up other projects. It’s busy, and also going well. For discipleship with the guys the Lord has put in my life to meet with and pour into. That He would use me to help draw out their gifts and callings where He leads and that I would help get them ready for all that He has for them. Prayers that I would be faithful with every moment would be a blessing. To make the most use of my time with Jesus, and to run hard after Him. To be focused right where He wants me to be, and to walk in His will for my life. Here’s some bullet-points if you’d like to add them to your prayers!
Prayers for Argentina:
-wisdom for timing
-wisdom and guidance on paperwork for entry and staying in the country (beginning to do more investigation on how it all works)
-financial provision
-the team to come alongside and help with the work (we already have some who are praying seriously)
-to walk in faithfulness in everything—little and big…
Thank you so much for the role each and every one of you has played in my life. You are such a blessing! Thank you, thank you, thank you. God is so good to have given me a support group like you guys. I’m so looking forward to seeing all that the Lord is going to do.
If you’d like to get more involved with the ministry we’re doing at Calvary Trujillo or would like to know more about what’s next in my life and what’s to come in the ministry. Praise the Lord He’s with us. Praise the Lord we have this hope to ground ourselves in the truth when distractions and trials come: “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory,” (Colossians 3:1-4, NKJV). I’m so thankful for His faithfulness to continue to grow me heavenward, to know that He loves me beyond my greatest imagining, that my sins are paid for once and for all, and that He will neither leave me nor forsake me. He is more than able to place us where He wants us, and give us the strength to endure in any circumstance.
December
December was a bit of a whirlwind, but it was a blessing. Things settled down quite a bit after our last semester ended, and it was a nice change of pace and allowed me to prepare and plan for coming back stateside. It was a blessing continuing to draw closer to students. Praise the Lord I’ve been continuing to see my Spanish grow (thank you for Your prayers—the Lord is strengthening me to learn). One highlight before I flew home was a big outreach we did to our community. We called it Dar es Amar (To Give is to Love). People from our church and others donated presents and money for toys where we could wrap presents and prepare lunches for children in need and go out into our community, share the Gospel and practically the love of Jesus for these little ones by giving them a gift with that message of freedom. That they would remember they received something because Jesus loves them. Please keep praying that the Lord would equip us to share well His Gospel for the glory of His name. December 22nd I flew back stateside—I arrived Monday the 23rd around 12pm and I was so excited to see my aunt and go get some In-N-Out. I was so blessed to be able to see my family and spend time with them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. After a long year it was good to be with loved ones. A final highlight was getting to teach the Young Adults at the Rock the next day. It’s a blessing to see how the Lord is moving and stirring in the hearts of His people to serve Him where they are and to go the nations.
January
January was a whirlwind and a blessing all at once. I got to see many old friends, make passport appointments, take a family trip, and share at multiple churches. I got to spend a lot of time at my home church—Calvary Chapel the Rock and it was a blessing to see what the Lord has been doing with my church family back in California. There were a lot of little logistical things, meeting up with people to catch up after being on the field for a year, and new relationships made as well. It was a blessing of a time. My weekends were full as well as I shared at Calvary Chapel Willits on the first Sunday of the month and then at the Rock for a missions gathering and dinner the next week. I was so blessed by the opportunities and all of the support from all who came. It was refreshing and bittersweet as my time stateside was coming to an end, but I’m blessed to have the opportunity to represent the Lord on the field and am so thankful to have you partnering with me in prayer and support to take His name to South America and beyond. I’m now officially an SGWM missionary. I got to spend a week down South seeing some old friends, and getting to meet with the staff at Saving Grace to go over different protocols, share with their missions students, and enjoy some time with them all. In the midst of the busyness, the Lord brought refreshment. I pray the Lord would refresh your hearts for the refreshment you’ve been for me.
I got back to Trujillo at 9:45am Jan. 21st and at the same time as a team that was coming to help us at the church. We hit the ground running. We had two small construction teams and got a lot done. I was so encouraged to see their work ethics and hear the work that the Lord has done in their lives. They were an absolute blessing. I hope to see them again soon.
What’s Next?
Please be praying, things with the property in Argentina are moving along and may be heading there sooner than first anticipated. Here at CBI Perú I’m going to be heading up evangelism for the students, practical service hours, head up different construction projects, help disciple the students, and prepare more for the work in Argentina. There is much to be done, and I need His strength. I cannot do it without the empowerment of His Spirit. Our next semester has just started and I’m so excited to see what the Lord is going to do! Please pray for the leadership, and please pray for the students that this would be a fruitful time that the Lord would reveal the call He’s placed on the lives of His children.
How to Get Involved…
Please pray! There is no greater need for me than for prayer of the work that the Lord has called me to do. I need His wisdom and guidance. I need the empowerment of His Spirit. I need His provision. Please pray that I would prioritize evangelism and discipleship as there is absolutely a need. Please pray that I would redeem my time well using it for the glory of His name. Please pray that the Lord would open doors for the work in Argentina and that we would be able to establish a sending hub in the South of the continent to reach South America.
For the glory of His name,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2025/02/03/perspective/

December 2024 and January 2025 Update

Sometimes it’s all too easy to get stuck in our own circumstances. Lord, give us more grace!
Life in the Southern Hemisphere…
October:
Man oh man, how do I sum up two months concisely? It’s been a blessing, it’s been really busy, it’s been really fruitful, and God is doing so much. Our conference had finished up right before October hit, and so it was nice to get some good rest afterward. Battled some sickness for a while, but by the grace of God was able to keep up with everything I needed to. The Thursday prayer group for Argentina, and our Casa a Casa kept on each Friday as we dove into the Word together. I was still preparing for both Tuesday night Church Planting Class, and for Fridays at our home group. It was such a blessing to see how the Lord was bringing us closer together as a group each week. The Lord has blessed me with some wonderful friends and family here in Trujillo. In October I was asked to go and teach the book of Genesis at CBI Brazil and so when I could I was trying to prepare for that as well. Classes continued and we began to get things ready for graduation and the coming semester. Construction continued and is continuing—there is a lot to do. At the end of the month all the students and a few staff went to Lima for a big outreach. It was crazy to experience the campus so quiet in between services at the church. In a lot of ways it was a good break, but I missed them a lot. They’ve all become like family and it’s hard to see them go at the end of the semester. I’m so thankful for them and what the Lord is doing in their lives. It’s amazing to see the growth that’s taking place in their hearts and minds and seeing lives transformed by the power of His Word. It’s so cool to see the discipleship that’s taking place and I’m blessed to be able to be a part of it.
November:
November was a little crazy, but the Lord saw me through it. I got to go teach the book of Genesis at CBI Brazil and was super blessed by my time there. During the busyness of everything I actually ended up missing my flight to Brazil, but by the grace of God He worked it out and I was able to get a new flight out later that night and arrived the next afternoon. Right before I left all the students got back from their mission trip in Lima so there was a lot going on. I was in Brazil for two weeks in Sao Paolo in a city called Sao Vicente and was super blessed by everyone at the campus and church there. I had a great opportunity to teach a Sunday service while I was there and it was a blessing It was a busy and full two weeks, and outside of class preparation, teaching, and hanging out with the students we still got to go have some fun, and praise the Lord it was on their free day and what turned out to be the only sunny one while I was there. I got back early the morning of the 17th and it was back to business as usual at CBI Peru and Calvary Trujillo. It was almost a weird feeling because things were slowing down immensely—not having to study for a class on top of everything else and with our Casa a Casa’s coming to an end, the semester had one more week, and we also had our final prayer meeting for Argentina over the semester (excited for what God is doing). It was strange celebrating Thanksgiving in Peru, but it was much more than I expected. Our pastor’s wife knows how to make gluten free food and she absolutely blessed me by bringing gluten free pie, stuffing, gravy—the works! Thanksgiving food is my favorite and it was a blessing to get to spend it with good friends on the southern part of the planet. Our final Casa a Casa was on Nov. 29th, it was a great time just fellowshipping, eating good food (Pollo a la Brasa), and getting to encourage them one last time before the break.
What’s on the Horizon
I will arrive back in the States on Dec. 23rd. I’m looking forward to seeing you all, and catching up after almost a year here in Peru. I’ll be back for about a month and head back on the 20th of January. Prayers would be appreciated as I need to renew my passport, drivers license, and some other things while I’m back. If you’d like to get together please shoot me a text or an email and I’d love to try to make some time to see you (I’ll also be down in Southern California for a bit too).
After I get back we’ll be within a week of our Spring Semester and we’ll be hitting the ground running. As for anything Argentina related I will keep you guys in the loop as it is there are some moving parts—I’m hoping to go again soon. As for now the plan will be to keep on with construction and administrative tasks at CBI Peru.
Prayer Requests
Travels. Time with family. Passport and license renewals. Getting everything set up for next semester. Continuing to grow in managing my schedule in a way that allows for more productivity between admissions, service hours scheduling, and construction and anything else that’s needed. To continue to grow closer to the Lord, and walk in His will and calling on my life. Wisdom, discernment, His strength, leading, and provision for all that He has in store. Visiting a couple churches while I’m back (I’ll be sharing at my home church on Jan. 12th). That my time back would be restful, and productive and fruitful to catch up on all the necessities since I’ve been gone. It’s easy to keep moving and maintain in the midst of busyness, but going deep, pressing in closer, and preparing for things to come adds a different twist. I know He’s growing me in this season to not just get by, but flourish and prepare for what’s next. It takes preparation, and much more of His grace. Such a season produces an understanding of my utter inadequacies, and my great need for more of Him and less of me. Paul exhorts us in his own struggle where the Lord encourages Him in his weakness, “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me,” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV). He is a good God, and no matter where I find myself. If I am feeling stretched and pressed on every side, if I feel my strength dwindling—surely He desires to show Himself strong in my life. He’s not setting us up for failure. He desires our purity, our pursuit of holiness, and our life to be lived for Him more than we do. I need His help to recognize where I’m not properly relying on Him to accomplish His will. Paul had strong words for the Galatians who sought to complete the work of God, in themselves, in their own strength. Lord, please give us the grace to understand, to see, to trust and see You glorified!
Life Lately—
The month of September… It came with a lot of work, all worthy things, and it’s amazing to see how much growth is taking place here at Calvary Trujillo and CBI Perú. There’s been a lot of progress not just physically, but spiritually. Many peripheral projects have been getting accomplished as we have many more construction minded people here now—what a blessing! Spiritually, the classes have been a blessing for the students and the discipleship that’s been taking place is always soul-searching, and pruning. I’m thankful for it all. God has been blessing me with the ability to think and relate how I need to to accomplish tasks more quickly on the administrative end. I’ve been able to help implement transcripts for all of our students and am continuing to refine and update them as the semester progresses; helping students make sure they are on track to graduate as well. God is good!
At the beginning of the month we were blessed to have multiple pastors here to teach the book of Mark and they were a blast to hang out with! Lot’s of cooking good food, fellowship, hard work, and fun. The guys bathroom upstairs in the new dorm has been able to get a lot more attention—praise the Lord we’re getting closer! I got to help teach the book of Isaiah which was a huge honor and blessing (if any of you would like to watch the class I can get you a link). We got to have a construction team out only for a few days, but they helped us progress quite a bit—they were a blessing to hang out and work with for sure! I finally got the girls bathroom vanity completed as well! Leading the home fellowship group has been a blessing as well. A lot of the work was needed as well as we got ready for our annual South American Missions Conference—what a blast! I even got to build some planter boxes and plant some trees! An even bigger blessing I got to see some family from back home when Pastor Bond and his wife came out to speak at the conference! I got to see old friends, help drive around a lot of guests and pastors. It was a blessing! I also got to see a lot of the people who are excited, prayerful, and heading up ministry in Argentina right now! We’ve even got a fruit budding on one of our trees we planting this past summer! It’s amazing to see what God is doing here, there’s been a lot of growth in a very short time—but in that the attacks of the enemy have not been lacking—praise the Lord He is greater!
What’s Next—
I was asked to go to the CBI in Brazil early in November to teach the book of Genesis and I am honored and blessed by the opportunity to get into the Word with hearts that are hungry for Jesus. Please pray for me and my preparation. That nothing would be held back. That I would be filled with the Spirit and enabled the grace to share His Word contextually, and in a way that will draw their hearts closer to Jesus! Please pray for safe travels as well! I’m also needing to renew my passport and I may do it as I pass through Lima at the American Embassy there. Other than that, it’s business as usual. We’re progressing more and more on finishing the other rooms in the new guys dorm. We’re getting little projects done. The Lord is providing for other big works in our ministry. It’s a blessing to be a part of what the Lord is doing here at CBI Perú and Calvary Trujillo. Our semester ends November 22nd so please be praying for the students and ourselves as we get ready for graduation and want to finish well.
Other exciting news, I already booked my flights and am going to be heading back to the states just before Christmas and will be in California for about a month. There’s much more on the horizon, and I will keep you posted as new information about the property in Argentina comes in. Currently we’re awaiting a signature to keep the ball rolling to buy the property.
Prayer Requests—
Teaching Genesis at CBI Brazil Travel mercies Passport renewal Continued wisdom for scheduling with students and other admin tasks Continued unity—no opportunity for the enemy Continued focus and progress on construction things That the Lord would give me wisdom on all the specifics for my trip to the States Refreshment and renewal For my lungs with my asthma (it’s been acting up quite a bit lately) and I may be fighting some kind of bacterial bug For my family back in the States Continued opportunities to share the Gospel Continued wisdom and grace to better my leadership with being a dorm steward, leading construction (alongside some of the other staff), leading administratively, teaching with Church Planting class, and for our home fellowship groups To learn quickly anything else related to running a campus That my mind would be thinking ahead enough to not only be present, but not overwhelmed in what’s to come The purchase of the property in Argentina for the new CBI there Thank you all so much for all of your love and support. Thank you for reading and keeping up with these updates. I couldn’t be here doing what I’m doing without your love, prayers, and support. You are having a far greater affect than you know and I pray the Lord blesses you and the part you’ve taken. I pray that He would encourage you in all He has for you in this season and for you to walk in where He has you. Time has been absolutely flying and I find the Lord calling me closer and deeper than ever before. It’s so easy for all of me to get wrapped up in what I’m doing. I’ve been seeing the Lord, more and more, reminding me of His goodness, His gentleness, of His kindness and thoughts toward me. A Scripture that comes to mind is in Luke 10:38-42:
“But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (v.40-42)
It’s so easy for me to get caught up and distracted in the work that I’m doing that I don’t stop and connect with the Lord in the depth that I would like to. This passage is something that the Lord has hidden within me over the years and in my seasons of busyness (aren’t we all busy) He lovingly reminds me to be still and sit at His feet. The things that often preoccupy my mind are far better handled in His care with my surrendering, supplication, and prayer—He knows far better. His ways are higher and it’s okay when things go differently than planned—He knows far better—and there is no where that feels more at home than Jesus. In my busyness I want to press in deeply.
August:
So much has happened in this last month, and here we are in September. Wow! From weddings, to grocery trips, to new dorms, and being reunited to good friends—life is full and the Lord is good. I was asked to be in my first Peruvian wedding (for a Venezuelan couple from our church). It was a blessing and an honor. I spent a lot of time planning for, and doing construction with a lot of the guys on campus. Our dorm has come a long way and we’re getting much closer to being done. We have the bathroom to finish and some finishing touches in our closet and clothes hanging area to do. Wherever I can I’m teaching the guys what I know, as well as picking up new skills along the way. We’ve been working on the plumbing quite a bit, we were able to have someone come out and put in a float sensor that will automatically turn on and fill our tank and turn off the pump when it’s done. Putting in new manifolds to all of our water piping and figuring out vents and where everything goes was a process, but it was a great learning experience too. It’s been a few years and it takes me back to my landscaping days. The Lord has been growing my Spanish abilities and I have been able to help at different times with worship in a bilingual setting! A highlight to the kick-off of the semester wasn’t just seeing returning students, but also getting to see one of my pastor’s and mentor’s and his family for the first class. It was so good to have some family from back home come out and represent the Rock, but also to reconnect and talk about what’s next too! We’ve even got a new student representative from the Rock as well—God is good! In August we started up our “House to House” groups and I’ve been given the opportunity to lead our Bilingual Casa a Casa and it’s been a blessing! Between daily tasks, the Church Planting class that restarted up, dorm stewarding, discipleship, leading the Argentina prayer group and Casa a Casa my time is well filled.
What’s Next:
Right now I am in the process of getting ready to teach our final class on Isaiah where I will be teaching chapters 56-66, and I’m excited to see what the Lord is going to do. It’s been a great opportunity and the Lord has greatly grown my own understanding and perception of the book in the process. Please pray for me to handle my time well as I am studying for three different teachings this week (one for Church Planting, one for Casa a Casa, and to finish off the book of Isaiah). As for the school and the church we’ve got our big South America Missions Conference coming up in a couple weeks and there’s a lot of work to be done. We’re going to have quite a few more people on campus, and it’s going to be a really exciting time. Please continue to pray for everything going on with the property in Argentina as we are in the process of purchasing it. Coming up in October we’re going to have a student missions trip down near Lima and the whole school is going. Not all of the staff are going, but I will keep you posted as to whether or not I will be.
Prayer and Needs:
If you could also be praying for the school, we always have a need for help with scholarships (for South American students) and for food. We have a direct link for the new Gospel South America website that I will try to post soon if you’d like to look and see or even if you would like to help financially in some way.
-To draw closer to the Lord more and more
-Strength for teaching
-To grow in my Spanish abilities
-Provision for the school and everything for the conference
—Scholarships—and room and board
-Favor and smooth transitioning with everything in Argentina
—that the Lord would bring all who He wants in the Argentina prayer group this semester
—for the Lord to begin preparing hearts for the new campus
-For the teachings and all those who are coming for the conference
-the health of everyone on campus as most of us have been sick
-the new church plants and works the Lord is leading towards
—that we would trust and watch His faithfulness
-For evangelism here in Trujillo
*Please pray for my family right now as my grandma just passed about a week ago…
-that my unsaved family would come to the Lord
-that the Lord would bring His hope and healing to their hearts
Thank you so much for partnering with me to be here and walk in the gifts and calling the Lord has placed on my life. I’ve been seeing that power again and again in my life here on the field. Thank you so much for partnering with me, thank you for praying, and thank you for your faithfulness in the role’s you’re walking out in the kingdom of God.
What’s been going on?
We had a very busy vacation in between semesters. Many students stayed on campus which was a blessing for us. We were able to accomplish more with construction and outreach here in Trujillo. They spend a lot of time working on their Chuck Tracks and other work to help free up some time over their semesters as they finish sooner. I’ve been working on construction and admin, getting things ready for our current semester. It’s been a lot of work, but it’s been really awesome to see the Lord give me the wisdom I need to accomplish tasks much faster than I would normally imagine. Running service hours for the students has been a growing task and has been growing me as well. It’s forced me to get ahead schedule wise and plan ahead not only for the students but for myself as I have tasks I still need to accomplish. I’m thankful for the opportunity to grow and I’m thankful to see how the Lord is providing strength for it all. I love problem solving and am loving the Lord’s help in growing in those abilities as well.
We had 3 or 4 weddings over the summer and I even got asked to be in one (I’ll cover that in my next newsletter). We got to celebrate the 4th of July here in Peru and a bunch of people from the church and institute were there to celebrate with us—their Dia de Independencia was just around the corner and it was a great time! In my free time I’ve been training at the gym near by learning catch wrestling and taking some classes—health-wise I feel great and am loving challenging my body. As for construction a lot has gotten done as well. We’ve had a good “spring cleaning” on a few different occasions and we are now up in our new mens dorm. We are still finishing up the new guys bathroom but the living area is all good to go. In the old one, we were able to knock out a couple of rooms for married couples who want to attend on campus. There’s also been a good amount of outreach. We’ve done some open street evangelism, but also when we had a team come out we did a couple different outreaches, a huge one for kids and then a VBS at the church! The outreach turned out far bigger than we expected. Our students and staff put a lot of work into it and so did the visiting team. Some of our students and staff went out to invite people in the days leading up to the event, and when it began we were blown away! We believe there were over 500 kids (maybe closer to 750) in attendance with their families! They heard the Gospel, played games, got invited to church, and received free prizes and food! God is doing a work here in Trujillo and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of it and for praying for what God is doing and wants to do here.
We had another baptism which was combined with one of our church plants—Calvary Buenos Aires and, in total, over 30 people got baptized! That’s including 2 people from our deaf ministry at Calvary Trujillo! It was such a blessing to see and I’m looking forward to what the Lord is going to do next! Already more newcomers are giving their lives to the Lord!
What’s next?
If you could please pray for my friends Julian and Hope, they just got married recently and are now running the new CBI in Brazil for the semester. They are preparing to go plant a new Calvary in Concepción, Chile. After the semester they will go back to the states for a time, but are planning to go in the new year! If you could please be praying for me, Gospel South America (the organization based out of Calvary Trujillo) is in the process of purchasing the new property in Mendoza, Argentina for our new CBI campus there. The plan is to have it closely tied to Calvary La Vid—Maipu in Mendoza, Argentina. Please pray for the process to go smoothly and for the Lord’s leading and wisdom. We will also need help getting the property ready for it’s first semester shortly after. I also need your prayers for this semester. I am running a Casá á Casá that is bilingual through the church. It’s a privilege to be able to teach and lead one of the churches Bible studies and I want to do it well and in an honoring way. I will also be leading one of the new prayer groups for Argentina as we are getting ready to expand the ministry there. Please pray for wisdom there and for me as I will be teaching 2 days of our Isaiah class that’s coming up in about a week. I’ll be teaching through Isaiah 14-19, and the final day of class on chapters 55-66. Thank you so much for praying and partnering with me here. It’s been a common and consistent theme preceding and following my arrival here in Trujillo. There is so much work before us, and the Lord has been equipping. We’ve been praying and the Lord has been answering. He is a constant help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). The work that I’m doing now, what affect is it having and will it last? This last semester we taught from John 14 through John 16, and what powerful passages those are. Jesus is speaking with His disciples and preparing them for His departure. That He in His death would not only provide a means of atonement and reconciliation for our sins, but that He was going to prepare an eternal place for us. Even more, that He was coming back for us. These are exceedingly great and precious promises (2 Pet. 1:1-3). In John 15 He says this: “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you,” (John 15:16). We have been called to be His, to bear fruit, and not just any fruit, but fruit that will remain or abide. Our works are to be exemplary of someone who has fully surrendered their lives to Jesus, but also to leave an impact that will last; a legacy. Man, I want my works to remain in Him, to be done in His time, His way, and with His heart and means. In that, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that, by His Spirit, I need to disciple and train people to take my place. That they would be ready when I’m gone, and that they would be equipped to carry on the work the Lord is doing. There’s much to learn, and there’s much work to do, but it’s absolutely worthy of my life—it’s His.
Moyobamba
There’s been so much going on it’s been hard to remember what’s happened in basically a month! We were in Argentina in the beginning of April, and two weeks later we had a missions trip with the school to the jungle a little further north east in a place called Moyobamba. For those who came last May it’s the Calvary Chapel that Pastor Andrew just planted at the end of last year. What a blast! It was such a beautiful area. The people were so kind and welcoming, and God is doing an amazing work! We did construction, we did outreach, we taught the Word, we worshipped, and we encouraged the Body there in the jungle of Perú. Many of the Christians there are first generation Christians and are very young in the faith, but they are learning a lot under Pastor Andrew’s stewardship. We got to be present for their first baptism and 15 people got baptized—praise the Lord! It was an amazing trip, and I hope to go back to help them again in the future. Getting to meet people whose lives have been changed by the Lord in such radical ways was an amazing thing to see. A man who had once been known by many for who he was in his past, at an older age, being saved, surrendering his life and living for Jesus was such a cool thing. Getting to see him baptized was a blessing!
Life in the month of May
Right after we got back, it was May! Time has flown by and the Lord has been doing a lot! As I write this, we have just under two weeks before our Summer Missions Internship! After we got back to Trujillo we got back into the swing of things. Getting into our daily routines, doing administrative work and construction. The students had two more classes. We had one of the first Calvary pastors in Peru come and teach one of the classes—Pastor Lucho. Then after that, Pastor Brent from Calvary Roma came and taught the last class for the students—it was a great time! I was working on accepting new students into the institute and getting things ready for graduation and even our next semester. Then we had graduation. It was a bittersweet time, but it’s so exciting to know that those finishing and being sent out not only have a heart to go, but to be faithful to the work the Lord has put them to. I’m going to miss those who are going to other places, but I’m excited to see what God is going to do in their lives! One thing that’s been amazing to see is how the Lord is blessing the deaf ministry that we have at Calvary Trujillo. It’s been growing quite a bit, and some have been surrendering their lives to Jesus. Please pray that the Lord would continue to provide avenues to minister to such an unreached community.
Right now I’m in charge of handling correspondence and applications regarding students and prospective students here at CBI Perú. In that I’m seeking to come alongside students wherever I can to disciple the guys, and get ready to take on scheduling for service hours for the rest of the summer and the coming semester. The person who’s been in charge of admissions and correspondence is getting married and moving with her husband (one of our other campus administrators) to Brazil, and then they’re going to plant a church in the city of Concepción in Chilé. That being said, with her gone I will be doing a lot more of those things administratively. I’m excited to help where I can and do my best to keep things going smoothly.
Prayer Requests and Needs:
Please pray for me and the team we have here at CC Trujillo. There’s a lot going on, a lot of work to do, and a lot of growth taking place in the staff, the school, and the church. It’s all exciting, but we certainly need the Lord’s wisdom and guidance for what’s next, for how to adapt and change well with the growth of our ministry, and to be faithful witness to the people of Perú here in Trujillo.
-To draw closer and closer to the Lord
-To represent Him well and faithfully
-To be faithful in new responsibilities
-Eyes to see where I need to grow
-To have a teachable heart
-To disciple well
-To learn Spanish quickly,
-To be able to disciple well and with the Lord’s heart
-To be well prepared for teaching the book of Acts for the Summer of Missions Internship (I’ll be teaching 2 or 3 days of 12).
-To continue to be a steward of my body by working out and eating well
-To be wise with the resources the Lord is providing
-The Lord’s wisdom, preparation, and guidance as to helping plant a new CBI
Needs:
-Many of our students from Latin and South America are here on scholarship.
-The funds for the property for CBI Mendoza in Argentina.
Thank you so much for your love, for your faithfulness in prayer and giving, and thank you for partnering with me to live out the Great Commission!
The Lord bless you, and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you…
Dios te bendiga!
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2024/06/11/legacy/

May 2024 Update

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

-Proverbs 22:6 (NASB)

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”

Legacy…
There always seems to be much to do, and sometimes it can be hard to balance all that’s before us. It can be so easy to get caught up and distracted in all of the little things that pop up in life that we can lose sight of what’s important. It can be far too easy to say yes and not have a plan to fulfill that word. There is a work–a task that He has called us to. If we allow Him, He will give us a grace that is sufficient for that task. It’s certainly not easy, but it’s worth it. He assures us that He will enable us by His grace to be all that He has called us to be. To give us the strength, and to empower our will by His Spirit for the glory of His name. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. There is nothing more worthy of our time and attention than the Lord, our relationship with Him, and what He has called us to.
These last several weeks have been a whirlwind. Just before April, I began my process for obtaining a religious workers residency to live and serve here in Peru. Shortly after, I was able to get a permission from immigration (as you’re not typically allowed to leave until you obtain the residency) to then go with our Pastor here to a conference in Mendoza, Argentina. That was all at the beginning of this month. The Lord provided. He opened doors, and He’s putting things in front of me to walk and serve in. There’s much to do, and as I’ve gotten older I like to be still–it’s stretching for me. Since we returned from Argentina, I’m excited to be back and to be serving as I’m taking on more responsibilities here with CBI Peru. Construction, on several fronts, is still under way, and my schedule is well balanced between responsibilities in construction and administration with the school. Much is happening here and God is doing a great work! I got to sit in on our Nehemiah class that Pastor Cory taught–it was a blessing! Seeing Nehemiah’s heart of service and devotion in the face of some overwhelming opposition. Seeing his faithfulness despite the opposition because he knew the thing that God had called him to… and that was to help rebuild the wall of the city of his ancestors. The Lord provided him all he needed, and He does the same for us today. For you and I. He’s been doing so with the church, and ministry of Calvary Trujillo. We’ve moved to two services a Sunday and we’re already very full, and more are giving their lives to the Lord. He is raising up people to serve and be a blessing where there are needs, and the CBI students are closely involved with what’s happening in the church. Growth is happening, and I’m excited to see all that the Lord is doing!
We just returned from our week of missions, and I was a part of the team that went to Moyobamba, a city in the jungle. It was a really sweet time, but I’ll share more about that in my May update–God is doing an incredible work there too!
How to Get Involved
Prayer! I need your prayers. For myself, for my walk with the Lord, that I would represent Him well in the work He has called me to, and that I would continue to be busy about the business He has called me to. We are helping train up the next generation of church planters, pastors, and missionaries here in Peru and God is doing a great work! And further expansion in time to come. Would you please continue to pray for us? For this ministry? For my role in it and that God would make and keep me faithful in what He has called me to, and that I would help relieve burdens in ministry wherever He allows me. That I would point everyone here to a risen King and Savior, and that I would exemplify His heart, His love, and His forgiveness in all things. What He has called me to is worthy of my all because He first gave Himself for me. He is the goal, He is the prize, and He is absolutely worthy.
Empowering by the Spirit Using my time well For immigration process to finish well and smoothly To have eyes to see what He’s doing To be led of the Spirit For strength and endurance Summer internship Next semester What’s Coming Up
If you could please be praying for this summer, we have graduation in 3 weeks (2 more classes), and I am gaining more responsibility for the coming semester. Please pray for students to finish well. We also have our upcoming “Summer of Missions” program, and all those who will come and intern over the summer to learn and that the Lord would cultivate a heart of surrender and to live on mission. Please pray for this upcoming semester that all who attend and serve would draw closer to the Lord and be better equipped for the life the Lord has called them to. Please pray for wisdom for the church and our pastors as we are needing to keep up with the growth that is taking place.
Service Opportunity!!
If any of you would be interested in interning over the summer we will have a 6 week missions training program (for those ages 18-29) where we will go through the book of acts and spend three 2-week periods in three different locations (here in Trujillo and in the jungle) serving and coming alongside church plants. If that sounds like something you would be interested in please let me know!! I’ll put the link below so you can come check it out. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I love you all and am so glad to have your prayers and support. You all are missed, but I am so blessed to be here and I feel very much at home in what’s going on and where the Lord has me. Our schedules here are full to say the least, but in some really great ways. Living on a campus provides a very different structure to life and living. It’s been a blessing getting to know the students more and getting to sit in on their first class this semester. It makes sense he just so happens to be from a Calvary not too far north of Santa Rosa.
I’ve honestly felt right at home. There are always opportunities for growth and learning how to focus more on others, and those are welcome lessons. The schedule here is structured in such a way to prepare students and interns for ministry. We take Monday’s off and are working/serving Tuesday through Sunday. It’s been such a blessing to connect with the people who call Calvary Trujillo home. We’ve already been able to go and have dinner with different people in the church and it’s been such a blessing!
Everyone here is so hospitable and giving of their time and resources and I’m encouraged to see it. There are a lot of things that I get to be a part of here. I’m currently helping a lot with construction, as we are getting ready to welcome our team from Calvary the Rock that’s going to help us build our new men’s dorm! I’m so excited to see so many faces from home, and I’m excited to see the impact these projects will have on students and the school. We finished up the new little storage (well mostly—all functional and in use now). Now we’re finishing up pouring concrete for the new floor for the dorm and getting ready to pour the cement for the rest of our bathroom as well as prepping to put up a steel frame for the dorm itself! It’s busy, but awesome to see things progress and be a part of it. Thank you for your prayers and support in all of this!
Every Saturday we will have outreach with the students and will be going out, and in different venues, from nursing homes to juvie, and sharing the Gospel wherever the Lord allows us! Andy has had an amazing opportunity to help lead a Bible study at the fighting gym around the corner (the owner is a student and loves the Lord). Already we’ve been seeing it grow. Please pray that the Lord gives wisdom and fruit from that time as there are many unbelievers. I’m excited to begin helping with outreach and evangelism with the school. There’s a big university nearby and I’m excited to go share Jesus! Outside of construction, serving, and staff/intern discipleship, I’m getting ready to jump into some admin work as well. I’m going to be helping in a registrar role here helping with grades, transcripts, correspondence and more. Every Tuesday we are a part of Calvary Trujillo’s Church Planting School—we just finished our second week and it’s been awesome! We even have someone teaching us Spanish on Monday nights—God is good! My prayer is that the Lord will use me to help strengthen this ministry in whatever way He would have. Please pray with me that I would be that blessing!
What’s Next?
…To be faithful. The Lord is doing an incredible work here in Trujillo. There are two prayer teams right now for new church plants, one in Chile, and the other in Venezuela. There’s an upcoming conference in Argentina that I’ll be going to with several people from the church in April. Please be praying that the Lord would speak, and that He would have His way! Other than that, things will be business as usual here in Peru.
Prayer Needs:
-to finish construction well (we’ve gotten a lot of work done—the Rock’s team gets here tomorrow!
-to study well for our sermons with church planting class
-to be a good example to students
-to grow in the Lord and walk in faithfulness
-that He would empower by His Spirit and give boldness to make Him known
-that He would continue to help in language learning
Thank you so much for your prayers and partnering with me to take the Gospel to the nations. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
I pray this update finds you well! It’s been a little more than one week of being sent out and living down in Peru. It’s already been a productive time and I am so blessed by all of the relationships that are being grown and the new ones being forged. I’m excited to see all that the Lord is going to do in this coming season and semester. Thank you so much for your prayers!
Right now, there are a lot of people on campus, but many are still to come. It looks like we’re going to have at least a few more people from the states so that will be nice to be able to grow in our Spanish together. If you didn’t know when we took off, we left last Wednesday around 1pm. We were able to talk with someone waiting near us for our flight about where we were going and what the Lord was doing and that began one of multiple conversations where we got to share Jesus. Please pray that those conversations will be seeds that the Lord will water. During our flight to LAX we got to have a great conversation with a college student sitting next to us. She had a lot of questions and I pray the Lord helped us to answer well! We had about a 6-hour layover in LA so we went to Santa Monica. It was my first time, but Andy had already been there (for those of you who don’t know, Andy is the other missionary being sent out from my home church). We had a good time exploring a little. It was a great way to pass the time and also provided an opportunity to share the Gospel with our driver who was from India named Gouthem. Please pray that those seeds would turn to salvation!
When our second flight was getting ready to leave, there was a man who was having some health difficulties, so the flight ended up being delayed by a couple of hours. As far as I’m aware, things ended up being okay. There were several people in the health care workers flying with us so that was a blessing. We got into Lima a couple hours later than anticipated—right at the time we were supposed to start boarding our flight, which led to a 7-hour layover until our next flight. Praise the Lord there was no lost luggage, and only minor delays. During our layover we went exploring a little in Lima and I got a much-needed haircut. We quickly realized that we weren’t in Santa Rosa anymore as we began to feel how hot it was outside. Thankfully we packed accordingly!
We arrived in Trujillo around 8:15/8:30pm Thursday night. We got all settled in as they already had a place picked out for us. We’ll be staying with the guys in the guy’s dorm for now. I’m excited to get to know them all better and to be able to speak Spanish more and more. On our first day here, we got to say hellos to people we haven’t seen in a long time and met some new faces as well. They showed us the ropes and we got right into working on some projects. There’s already a lot that has changed since our last visit, but there’s much more to come! All the growth that is taking place here in Trujillo is very encouraging. Not only that, but the new CBI campus is starting up in Brazil this semester!
Right now, we’re working on finishing up a new storage unit next to the current men’s dorm, and then we are going to begin prepping the floor for the new men’s dorm that CC the Rock is going to come and build. I even get to do cabinets, so when things slow down with the priority projects I’ll be working on some cabinets in the kitchen and doing some things with the coffee shop as well.
The Spring semester starts on Feb. 13th, and I’m excited to help receive new students and some old ones too as not everyone is here yet. This Tuesday we’re going to get to see more what our roles will look like ministry-wise, and how we can pour into the students, make disciples, and be a blessing to the campus. Outside of our time helping in our ministry roles here and with construction I’m trying to spend as much time as I can to grow in my Spanish speaking ability. Thank you all for your prayers with that. My Spanish is already getting better, and there’s a lot of work ahead.
How to Get Involved:
Thank you so much for all your prayers, generosity, and support as I’ve come out on the field. It’s been an overwhelming blessing, and I’m really excited for what He’s doing. Right now, my greatest need is prayer. I want to honor the Lord and walk in all that He has for me to do here. If you feel so led, I think the greatest physical need is monthly giving and support. Your giving makes outreach and ministry possible, as well as opens doors to provide for physical needs as well.
Prayer:
to be open to whatever the Lord has to be flexible to grow well in this season to learn Spanish quickly to aid however I can in the growth and development of the students and to help them understand and realize God’s call on their life through prayer and His Word to be faithful in the little things as well as the big to be an example of how a Christian man ought to conduct Himself in every way for physical growth as we train at the gym and are able to use that weekly for a Bible Study to reach the wrestling/jiu-jitsu/MMA gym continued prayers for my family’s health back home Thank you for your prayers and support, Dios te bendiga,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2024/01/29/now-to-him-who-is-able/

January 2024

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. I don’t know about you, but if I don’t take the time to slow down then I can often miss the important things the Lord has placed right in front of me. So much has been going on and it’s so easy to be so consumed with tomorrow that I miss out on today. Planning and preparation is needed, but Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Just one verse before He tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” The remedy for my busy and distracted heart is always more of Jesus. I pray in this season that He would help you to keep your focus upon Him and that He would help you to find joy and rest in the midst of all the chaos that life can bring.
It can be so easy to get caught up in what needs to get done that I my focus can easily begin to drift. It’s so easy to be distracted with all the good things that come up. The Lord is continuing to show me the areas that I can be moved (Acts 20:22-24), and is continuing to teach me to trust Him and take me to new heights. As always, sanctification can be a much slower process than we might hope for or like, but He is not in a hurry and He tells us not to despise the day of small things (Zech. 4:10). I want to be able to say, like Paul, “but none of these things move me…” (Acts 20:24). The Lord is at work, and no matter what I might feel He is making me new each day, and He will continue to take me from grace to grace. I am excited for all the He is going to do!
Things back in Sonoma County…
As you know I recently passed off the middle school group over to a family and it’s a blessing to see how the Lord is progressing the group already. It’s been growing a lot and I’m excited to see the growth that takes place as the Lord uses Mike and his wife Leslie! Please be praying for them as they continue to oversee the Middle School youth group! It’s been a whirlwind of a season. Time is short before our departure and January 17th is approaching rapidly. Between work, teaching, serving in other capacities at church, and trying to be intentional with the time I spend with family and friends it has been somewhat overwhelming. Even in the face of feeling overwhelmed I know the Lord is with me and using this time and season to prepare me for what’s to come. I’m thankful for His strength and renewal and I want to have a trusting, learning heart to receive what He is teaching me in this season. It’s all prep, and Jesus said, “he who is faithful in little will be faithful in much.” Please pray that I would be faithful and finish well. Last week I had two speaking engagements, both were a first for me, and one of them was my first Sunday message up at Calvary Chapel Willits. It was such a blessing to see some longtime friends and family in the Lord, and what a blessing to see the growth that is taking place since they planted it around 7 years ago. I got to share on our purpose as the church to go and make disciples. Please pray that the Lord would continue to provide them with opportunities to be a bold and shining light in a dark place. Every Wednesday we have missionary training with one of our pastors to prepare Andy (the guy that’s also going to Peru) and I before we head out. This has been a blessing and has provided a lot of practical reminders to help prep us for when we leave and how to get ready to go.
Peru-bound!
Right now I’m working on getting all of my paperwork ready to apply for a visa in Peru. Documents need notarization and to be apostilled (that’s a new one for me: it’s kind of like an international notary). Outside of some of those practical things for immigration, I’m trying to take time where I can to get my belongings packed up and sold/donated before I leave. I’ll be keeping some things, but much will go, and I will be trying to pack as lightly as I can when I go. I’ve got a lot to do, please pray that the Lord would continue to clear my path and make clear to me what doesn’t need to get done that I’ve unnecessarily added onto my plate. Please pray that I would finish well!
Here’s what’s left to do:
a few different cabinet/construction style projects passing on or selling anything that I’m not taking (or putting what is staying in storage) getting everything else filled out and returned in time before we leave (all the legal documents for immigration) clearing out my residence and getting it ready for rent/sale (minor construction involved there) getting any final things that need to be packed and ready to leave How to get involved…
My greatest need is prayer! Would you please pray with and for me and for the ministry the Lord has set before me?
That Jesus would always remain my greatest priority—especially when busyness and necessity wants to draw me away from the secret place That I would be intentional in my times of prayer and seeking Him That I would have eyes to see the needs He would have me fill and how I can get others involved That I would have His heart in all He sets before me To finish things well To enjoy time with loved ones before I leave For continued financial provision That I would notice and utilize discipleship opportunities That I would be a blessing and help to the ministry in Trujillo Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support! I cannot express how appreciative I am! It’s amazing to see what the Lord has been doing and I just want to thank you for being a part of it.
As the Lord leads you, if you feel led to partner with me financially, the greatest need is for monthly support. One time gifts are always appreciated and are also a huge help as there are a lot of upstart costs and other things that can come up. Time is short, let’s be about His business!
Peru (Part 2)
From power outages, to worship nights, to church planting, my time in Peru was a whirlwind! CBI Kauai was also there with us. Between all of us, we had a lot to do, and the Lord gave us the wisdom and ability to get it all done; and with time to spare. A few of the guys and I from the Saving Grace team were working on getting the new church banner up for Calvary Trujillo. We had a lot of help from Calvary Trujillo students as well as Kauai. This thing was huge! Almost 10 feet high by 50 feet long! After that I helped with the new coffee shop that was set up in the patio area (right under the overhang we helped install this past May). I even got to do some cabinet-work. The Lord knew what we needed and He helped us to get it all done!
Each morning a pastor would share a morning devotional with us to start the day. These devos were a great preparation for what came with the conference. One of the devos that stuck out to me the most was on Acts 20:24 where Paul writes, “but none of these things move me…” He knew he was headed to Jerusalem to be bound and he continued anyway. What moves me? This has been a constant reflection since I heard it, and the Lord has been working away on me that I might be able to say as well, “but none of these things move me.” Please pray that I would be so rooted in Jesus.
Getting to serve there alongside the students, staff, and the other short term teams was a huge blessing. Seeing their hard work, tenacity, and joy in the face of many obstacles and trials was an incredible thing. Be encouraged church, there are a lot of young people that want to see this world effected for the Lord. He’s doing an incredible work, and the growth that is taking place is a beautiful thing to see.
What’s next?
I am excited to say that this January, Lord willing, I will be heading to Peru to serve alongside Calvary Trujillo and CBI Peru. I have an incredible opportunity to serve and learn the ropes of helping run a Bible College. An opportunity to disciple and help raise up the next generation of church planters, pastors, missionaries, and to see them sent out wherever the Lord calls them. I am excited to see all that the Lord has in store, and to be able to grow in the call He’s placed on my life. Jesus is coming soon! Let’s be busy and about His business! This whole world needs to hear and I won’t be satisfied, I won’t stop, until I’ve walked in all that He has for me this side of eternity! It’s not just me going, but the Lord has stirred in the heart of a good friend to come as well. Please pray that we would stand firm and be faithful in all that He has set before us.
How to Get Involved
Thank you for partnering with me in prayer! It has been a long time in waiting for the Lord to reveal what’s next, and I’m excited to go! This season, in many ways, has been surreal and bittersweet as I will miss my family (biological and spiritually speaking) a whole lot. This life is a vapor and where Jesus leads I must follow! Would you please continue to pray for me? To be faithful, to fall more in love with Jesus, and to make disciples well? Would you pray for me that I would follow His leading in all things, and that His Spirit would provide the wisdom, strength, and grace needed for all that He is calling me to? I need His strength, His guidance, and His wisdom. I know He will provide all that is needed, and I look forward to seeing how He does it!
If you would like to get involved by partnering with me financially, there’s a link below to help make that possible. Many of those big things are being provided for as we speak, and I am looking forward to all that the Lord is going to do.
PERU
The Lord has certainly provided for this go around to Peru, your prayers and financial support are such a blessing! As I am currently in country and have been up to a lot the last two days, this update will be a segway into a special second edition coming soon to an email near you. Already I see the Lord doing much to prepare my heart and mind for the challenges that may come and I am beyond grateful for how the Lord has been giving me the grace to deal with it well. On Saturday morning it became clear there would be a couple snags as I headed down to join the team en route to Peru. An early delay brought about a flight carrier and connection change so I ended up meeting the team in Lima rather than at LAX. I honestly had a fair amount of time to spare and even with delays and some other curve balls the Lord caused me to meet up with the team from Saving Grace almost right after they checked their bags. Prior to that I got to meet an elderly gentleman by the name of Jeff. We had a great conversation, but outside of me sharing what I was up to, I didn’t get to talk with him more about the Gospel. He’s an American ex-pat who lives in Thailand with his wife and adopted daughter and couldn’t speak more highly of the Thai people. With that he expressed that he felt he aligned most with Buddhist ideals and beliefs, and kindly emphasized he was not a Christian. As I was trying to find a pause to share and at least give a few Gospel thoughts to hopefully spark some eternal thinking about what would happen when he died, and point him to a loving Savior, there was a call to prep for boarding. Any chance I had may have disappeared as I didn’t see him again long enough to share. Please pray that the Lord world bring more Christians to share the Gospel with him and that he would have a heart to hear the Lord’s call!
After meeting up with the team in Lima around 10pm California time, we boarded our flight 2 hrs later and got into Trujillo around 5:30am Peru (Texas) time. So far it’s been a sweet but busy couple days. Many familiar faces and lots of new ones as we’ve also been joined by CBI Kauai. Please be praying for our teams and the outreach that will be happening in the midst of the big church planting conference coming later this week! There’s a lot to do, but with the Lord and many of his hands I know He will see us through. He is up to something good, and Im excited! With that I think its time for me to go to bed! Hopefully I will be doing a workout bright and early! Prior to my part 2, feel free to add me on Facebook or Instagram for some behind the scenes looks at what the Lord is up to down here en Péru.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
-Middle School while I’m in Peru (Miss them already)
-Time in Peru, to bring refreshment for students and pastors who are serving and attending the conference
-For teams to stay bold in the Lord and for his hand of protection during service and outreach
-Team unity
-Hearts to be stirred for missions
-Laborers for the harvest is plentiful…
-Relationships with students and staff to grow
*for the Lords will to be done!
P.S. We have a solid core group of kids that are pretty amazing. I’m blessed by them constantly, and they’re pretty good about making me laugh too. This last month we had a lot go on, we had our Middle School Summer Camp where I took three of our middle school boys down to SoCal for a joint Calvary Summer Camp and it was a blast! The theme was “Living Water” out of John 8:37-38, and God was doing an amazing work in the hearts of the students and leaders who attended. Hearts were being set free and callings were made known—praise the Lord! Please pray for my boys that they would draw ever closer to Jesus and His heart for them, and that the truths they learned that week would only deepen and not fade. Lord willing, there will be an opportunity to do more camps like that in the future!
The week after camp we took our students for a joint trip to Hurricane Harbor (a six flags water park) and we had a blast! It was a great way to spend a hot day! Back at home we just said farewell to one of our leaders who is going off to college. We’re excited for her, but also bummed to not have her while she’s at school. Other than that we’ve had an addition to our leader team and are still plugging away through the Gospel of John.
Prayer for MS:
Please pray for the Middle School group!
-That the Lord would help me to delegate well to my leaders, and that we would pour into those kids with our utmost as we receive from the Lord.
-That those kids would begin to seek the Lord for His calling on their lives (even at their age)!
-That they would fall madly in love with Jesus, and that He would empower us by His Spirit to minister effectively and unapologetically according to His heart and Word.
What’s next?
Fantastic news: my tickets are purchased and I am all set to go to Peru for the South American church planting and missions conference! I am going down with an SGWM team to help work and prepare for the conference!
Prayer for Peru:
-Please pray for me, that my heart would be ready to receive from the Lord whatever He’s wanting to speak to me during that trip.
-That He would continue to hone and provide vision for what’s to come.
-That He would use me and the team to be a blessing and encouragement to the school and those at the conference while we’re there!
-That He would give clarity on timing for when I am to go (still hoping for January).
If you feel led to partner with me financially as I prepare for going out long term, there is a link below where you can do that.
Thank you so much for your partnership prayerfully and financially,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2023/08/19/my-peace-i-leave-with-you/

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Lord, make us faithful in all things, and all for Your glory!
Summer With the Middle School
So far we’ve already been able to do two of our events; mini golf and laser tag and arcade at Epicenter! The kids are having a great time, and during our weekly study we’re going through John. This week we’re in John 7, and I’m excited to see what the Lord is going to do. Later this month we have our Summer Middle School Camp and so far it’s looking like we’re going to have around 5 students coming. It’s a joint Calvary camp and the theme is going to be Living Water! Please be praying that the students would taste and see that He’s good and that they would come to Him as their Savior
What’s Next
The last couple of updates I’ve been mentioning that there is an exciting opportunity ahead and I appreciate your prayers! It’s clear now that the Lord had other plans in my going to Peru. As I got to serve in Trujillo, the Lord began to stir in my heart towards joining the Bible college there to serve and learn how to help run and even plant a Bible college in the future. The Lord is doing a great work in South America and I have an exciting opportunity to be a part of it. Training up the next generation of pastors, church planters, and missionaries has been on my heart, since shortly after I began my first year of Bible college, and I am excited to be able to pursue going. As of right now we are praying about and moving toward my going in the beginning of the year in 2024. There is a lot changing and moving with the Bible college in Trujillo, it’s growing, and I am really looking forward to what the Lord is going to do there. Please pray for me for wisdom—on how best to prepare and get ready to go early next year. I’m currently trying to learn Spanish as much as I can on duolingo (there’s no replacement for being immersed in a culture and it’s language). I’m also going to start working on a good working budget for my time there. The plan is to start with a 6 month trip in the hopes of being a part of the work there long-term. I know the Lord will lead and guide! Prior to going in 2024, my hope is to attend the Calvary Church Planting and Missions Conference (September 28-30; the trip is Sep. 23-Oct. 2) that’s going to be held at the Bible College in Trujillo. It’s going to be a sweet time and an amazing opportunity to get an idea and pulse on what the Lord is doing in Peru and South America as well!
Prayer and Needs
-That projects at home for the benefit of my family would be completed soon.
-Completing other tasks I said I would complete.
-My dads health and recovery (motivation and strength).
-That I would be faithful in the ministries that the Lord has placed in my care.
-The right people to help take over those ministries in the long-term.
-That transition would go smoothly and without discouragement for the Middle Schoolers
>Conference
-The Lord’s provision to attend the conference.
—I will be getting my airfare separately and then joining a SGWM team for a week.
—airfare currently is ~$700-900, and the cost of room and board is about $240
-Favor with the team and students—that we would be a blessing as we help work the conference and minister to the students and staff’s needs there.
/voisin/give/
>6 Month Start in Peru
-Wisdom for the staff and myself moving forward on long term plans.
-Provision and getting the budget worked out
-Favor with all involved and that the work there would grow abundantly and for the glory of His name!
Thank you for all of your prayers and support,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2023/07/13/he-is-faithful-2/

One thing I feel the Lord has been impressing upon my heart more and more lately is to be faithful. Mainly with the middle schoolers, but between friends, family, ministry, and work it is busy indeed. For middle school we’re going to be doing a couple of events a month and we have our summer camp coming up and I’m getting excited for that! Last week we took the middle schoolers to a local mini golf course and had a great time! We’re currently going through the book of John and are going to pick up in John 7 this coming Friday. Please pray for the students, that they would draw near to Jesus, and that they would run hard after Him.
Missions
As far as missions is concerned, I will not be going to Uganda this time around, but am hoping to go to at least one upcoming conference this Fall. Please pray for the team from the Rock going to Uganda late July—it’s going to be a sweet time for them, and I’m excited to see what the Lord is going to do with their time there. Please continue to pray for wisdom and guidance as there are some opportunities on the horizon! I’m excited to see what the Lord will do and trust that He will put me right where He wants me. In the mean-time I will be seeking to finish some things up here at home to be ready to go when the Lord says to.
How to Get Involved
As opportunities arise I will definitely let you know as there will be needs that come up. Until then, if you would please partner with me in prayer, that would be incredible! I am so thankful for your prayers and support and I am thankful to have your help in that way. I pray that your heart would be encouraged and strengthened in your faith!
Updates on Dad
While we were in Peru, my dad had to go back into the hospital because his incision became infected. If you would please pray for his heart to be encouraged in this season and to see what the Lord has for him to do in all of this that would be much appreciated! His doctor told him he would have a 50% chance of being able to go back to work, and my dad is eager to see that happen. Your prayers are beyond appreciated.
Please pray for me that I would manage my time well. As many of you know the Lord provided for me to go to Peru! What an amazing time it was. I got to meet so many amazing people, and come to find out, see many I hadn’t in a while. During our time there we were involved with many different things. We were able to do outreach, be a part of chapels for the Bible College, meet and interact with the students, attend Calvary Trujillo, and do lots of construction. Overall the Lord provided for an amazing time and opportunity.
Peru
We arrived May 11 and got settled in. Each team member got to share a devotional (and depending on the day) teach a chapel for CBI Peru. Our work was clearly cut out for us and it was a joy to be a part of what the Lord has been doing in Trujillo, Peru. During classes, our team would work on meal prep or construction. We were able to help put in a new water tank to supply the campuses water needs. Our first night we got to have some Peruvian donuts called Picarones (they’re delicious—give them a try). One of my favorite things was getting to meet the students and serve alongside them. Our first day there, a good friend and I went with some locals from the church and passed out flyers to invite people to an outreach in the park we were having the next day—it was a blast! This was the school’s last week of classes and they made it their outreach week before graduation—it made for a busy week indeed.
Outreach
We were able to do 4 different outreaches, all of which had a skit for the kiddos, games, some prizes and crafts, and a whole lot of Jesus and the Gospel. We got to partner with 3 different churches, and got to help bring the love of Jesus to some amazing kids in different communities. One of my favorite things to see was the skit that these CBI students put on—it was really well done and set up perfectly to share the Gospel and our need for Jesus. Only one thing can overcome darkness, and that’s Jesus. So many kids attended, and some with their families, and many gave their lives to Jesus. Please pray that they continue to attend church, get in the Word, and learn about their Savior who loves and died for them!
Construction
Not only did we get to help put up the new water tank, but we also got to help get the framing started for a big outdoor pergola off of their main eating area. It was a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun, and I’m glad to have worked with the team, and with the staff and students as well. I know they have a team coming this summer that will help them with even more.
Bible College
One of the main things we got to help with was one of our pastors teaching a class to the CBI students on missions and church planting. This was a sweet time, getting to hear reminders of what I got to learn back in the School of Missions in 2020. What an exciting thing to get to hear about what the Lord is doing in the lives of these students and interns as they’re getting ready to go out and church plant themselves! It was such a blessing to be around a bunch of young people on fire for the Lord and ready to go wherever He calls them. Their graduation took place our last Thursday there, and it was a blessing to see the hard work and accomplishments of the students recognized in front of the church, students, and their family and friends. I didn’t know it until our trip got closer, but two people I knew from my time at CSOM were graduating that night, and it was such a cool thing to see. Please pray for all of the graduates as some are getting ready to go out and others are returning to intern.
Back in the Northbay
Now it’s back to Middle School and home life while prepping and praying for what’s next. Please pray for continued vision, and provision for what the Lord is doing and where He is wanting to take me. I know He has a good plan and purpose and I am excited to see what He has in store.
A quick update on my dad, while we were in Peru he actually needed to go back into the hospital due to an infection where they had initially done surgery, but praise the Lord they did not need to operate again and he is back home. I’m so grateful to say that the surgery went very well! His spine was compressing and even beginning to cause some bruising on his spinal cord so it was needed. So many of you were praying and sending love and encouragement and I’m so appreciative! The Lord hears, and what a blessing that is. There’s still a long road ahead to recovery, it was definitely a major surgery, and with that there will be some challenges. If you think to pray, as of right now, it’s looking like they will try to recommend him to an acute rehab for him to get some more physical therapy and other practical tools to help him as he transitions from the hospital to home. He was able to get up and walk around today, but he is in a fair amount of pain. Prayers for the Lord’s mercy and His grace to endure for him would be much appreciated. We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome so thank you very much for your prayers!
Middle School
As for Middle School, it’s going well. We have a core group that’s been coming weekly and other kids who just come on Sunday’s, but the Lord is feeding His kids. It’s amazing to see how much they know about the Bible already! Our greatest prayer need here is just that the Lord would give wisdom and His grace to disciple these kiddos well in the knowledge of His Word and what it means to love, follow, and live for Jesus.
What’s Next?
My hope is to be going to Peru on May 10th with our team from the Rock. The plan is to be there through the 20th and we will get to do ministry with the Bible College there and help teach how to do outreach as well as do outreach ourselves. It’s going to be an awesome opportunity to get to know family in the Lord, but make Jesus known, and get some future church planters and missionaries fired up for where the Lord is leading them! In that, my ability to go may change depending on my dad’s recovery.
How to Get Involved
Prayer Requests:
My dad and his recovery:
—that he would be unhindered in that progression
—that he would gain new strength and be able to get back to work—do things he used to
Middle School:
—that the Lord would guide me as I lead my team and the kids
—that they would grow into disciples on fire for Jesus
Provision for Peru:
—Dad’s health well enough for me to go
*Praise report: I’m fully funded to go to Peru!
If you’d like to partner with me, prayer is the greatest need, and if you’d like to give for the trip or for others to go there is a link below to donate to.
Thank you so much! The Rock has had two retreats in the last 3 weeks (that I’ve been a part of), and God is up to something good. It’s a privilege to play a role in helping disciple our middle schoolers and play a part in discipleship and being part of our young adults as well. The Lord is faithful, and I am thankful for the opportunities He’s given me and I want to make the most of them. This season of life has been crazy, and difficult, but rewarding. It amazes me how God can take trials and difficulties and bring about something for our good and His glory. This season has been a crucible, but He is ever purging the dross—and for that I am grateful. I am thankful for His careful watch, and the comfort of His Spirit. I pray that whatever season you find yourself in right now that you cling to Jesus, sit at His feet (Luke 10:38-42), and cast your care upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Nothing is too big for our God, and He delights in our faith—it’s so much more precious to Him than gold that is tested by fire (1 Peter 1:6-9).
The theme of the middle school retreat was “Life in Light of Eternity.” Since I began teaching them last year, I’ve been praying that the Lord would help me to teach them what it means to be a disciple and have a proper foundation of trust in Jesus. One that He can continue to build upon as they grow. We began with a series on discipleship, then understanding the difference and importance between the Old and New Testament, and since then we’ve been making our way through the Gospel of John. These kids ask some amazing questions. They’re hungry for knowledge and truth and it amazes me how Biblically literate they are. All of that to say, our hope with this retreat was to help equip these middle schoolers to be able to live their lives looking forward to eternity, and I believe the Lord helped us to do that. We had 3 main sessions with lots of fun, food, and good hang outs mixed in. Our snow trip got canceled, but the Lord opened the door for us to stay elsewhere and keep our retreat going. Our first session a visiting pastor from another church taught on John 10 and Jesus being the Good Shepherd. Saturday night we touched base on a closeness of relationship with Jesus in Philippians 3, and Sunday I got to teach on John 15 where I shared that living for Jesus begins and continues with being with Jesus—seeking Him first and above all else. I pray that the Lord will continue to grow them in the knowledge of His Word and teach them how to do all for His glory—bearing fruit for His name. Thank you for your prayers, we couldn’t have done it without them.
Last weekend we took all the young adults up to Tahoe and man was there a lot of snow. The fellowship was a huge blessing, the sessions were blessed (teaching us to fight sin, and rest in the powerful work of Jesus that has caused us to be dead to sin, but alive in Christ). It was a needed weekend for me. It was nice to get away for a few days and allow the Lord to speak through His Word, and it was an amazing reminder of what a fresh start we have in what Jesus has done for us at the cross. I am dead to the power of sin over me, and alive to God in Christ and now a slave to righteousness. Man what a powerful reminder! The question presented that weekend was, “Will I agree with what God says about me?” Will I run the race that He’s set before me? I don’t know about you, but my answer is yes!
Getting Ready
Next on the docket is our Peru missions trip. I’m excited to go and see what the Lord will do. We are going to have an awesome opportunity to focus on outreach and help teach some Bible College students how to outreach. Many of them seem hopeful to get out, church plant, and make disciples! Lord willing we can aid them in that process!
With some smaller trips coming up, I have a great opportunity to get the middle schoolers involved with helping the teams prep for going on their trips. This coming week we are going to help prepare some care packages and letters for our high school trip to southern California where they are going to partner with a ministry that does a lot of outreach. Please pray that the Lord stirs in their heart for seeking and saving the lost and taking the Gospel to the nations.
Another trip to come is for Uganda. I’m praying and hoping to go to Uganda with the Rock this summer! Would you please pray that the Lord’s will would be done and that He would open and shut doors for whatever His will is for me in that. We’ve had multiple Bible studies going on, Home Fellowship Groups, great teachings, and fellowship on Sunday’s. There is always much to be done, and I am thankful for the opportunities the Lord has given. Middle School is going great! We’ve been having about 8-12 kids show up consistently and they’ve been growing a lot. Their Biblical literacy blows my mind, and I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do in their hearts and minds. Recently we did a joint event with our high schoolers at a trampoline park and we had a great time jumping and doing so ropes style courses, and a great time to connect with the students too. The week after that we had our Cereal Party Movie Night and watched Prince of Egypt and got to discuss those events from Scripture as well! These kids have a great attention span and learning more and more each time we meet. This last week we picked back up into our study of John and looked at Jesus and his interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well, and how Jesus “needed” to go through Samaria (v.4); there were clearly a lot of people that needed His good news, and He started with her.
What’s Next?
Next on the docket is a trip to Peru in May! I’m approved and excited to get to serve the Lord in South America. We will get to partner with a CBI in Peru and get to do outreach and ministry for this 10 day trip. That you would know beyond a shadow of doubt His love for you, His great desire to draw you closer to Him, and to accomplish His will in your life. In 1 Peter, as he’s speaking of the great living hope we have in Jesus, he says, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,” (1 Pet. 1:6-7). Then later, in chapter 5:6-7, he states, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” The Lord loves you beyond your wildest imaginings and He displayed it through the giving and death of His Son on the cross. He is doing a work in and through you, and He will be faithful to keep you and complete that work in you (Phil. 1:6). Thank you for being a part of the body and following His leading, to support and pray in the way that you do. For those of you who didn’t know, I was fully-funded to go to Nepal! It was such a blessed time and I look forward to seeing what the Lord will continue to do in Asia with our brothers and sisters continuing the work there.
This trip was a whirlwind! We left SFO on Oct. 17, and arrived into Katmandu, Nepal early morning on the 19th. We gathered our things and went to a guest house where we stayed for the majority of our trip at Bethel Guest House. The next day we got to meet those in charge of the work there in Katmandu and a few of the other pastors who are planting churches and/or helping with the Bible College.
We did some sight seeing that first day. We went to the monkey temple—yes there were monkeys everywhere. Then we also went to a very prominent site for those who are practicing Hindus in India and Nepal to cremate their dead. This was a very sobering place to visit considering our mission. It’s something that really puts into perspective the need to be actively sharing the Gospel and reach the unreached parts of the world. Maybe 3% of Nepal would be considered Christian and the vast majority would be Hindu and are headed towards a Christ-less eternity. There’s such a great need for Jesus and we have our work cut out for us. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. By the grace of God may we be those laborers sent into the harvest!
The next day one part of the group went to the Bible College to teach and minister to the guys and gals there, but I had a bit of a change of plans and went with a couple other Saving Grace guys to a village about 6 hours West of Katmandu. We went ahead to visit a church plant from one of our missionaries there. While we were there we were able to visit another church nearby where we were going to put on a youth conference the next day. During that youth conference there were 4 sessions and I was able to teach one of them. With that, we ate a lot of good food, played games, and got to connect with brothers and sisters from across the globe. On Sunday we joined service at the church plant and one of the visiting pastors taught. Afterward the ladies were able to put on a women’s conference and Pastor Joe and I got to hang out with kiddos and play games and sing worship songs. Seeing the joy on their faces was such a delight!
After heading back to Katmandu, we began to receive many of the pastors and students from other areas in Nepal and Asia as we were putting on a pastors’ conference. One of those pastors is an old friend from my days at Bible college and it was such a blessing to see him and hear about what the Lord is doing in his life. I was beyond blessed getting to speak with some of the pastors and asking them what advice they might give me, a young man getting ready for ministry, and I was very blessed by their counsel. After the conference we were able to watch the students from the Bible colleges across Asia graduate, and what a cool thing to witness! We were able to give gifts of commentaries, clothes, and so much more. A great many of those things they will be able to use in ministry for years to come.
I was so blessed by their hospitality and I think my favorite part was getting to meet and see so many brothers and sisters who are living out their faith in the midst of a culture that can be hostile toward it. I will miss them, and I hope to see them again soon. Please pray for a continued open door for the Gospel, and that Jesus would be magnified throughout Asia. That they would have boldness and strength in the face of persecution! God is good and I look forward to seeing what He will do—He will make a way!
What’s next?
Well, I am going to continue to be faithful in what the Lord has called me to do. Right now He has me directing the Middle School here at the Rock and I need your prayers. I cannot do it without His strength or the power of His Spirit. I need wisdom, guidance, and His love to be present in all I do. Please pray for my team and I as we seek to raise up this next generation for His glory. Ultimately my goal is long-term missions and I am praying about where the Lord would have me be sent to. He knows what is best and I want to make the most of every season of preparation He puts me in; and this is one of them.
In that, there are a couple of missions trips coming up with the church that I am praying about and would very much like to go on. We have one coming up in May to go to Peru for about a week. Then in July we are going to Uganda for a couple of weeks. There is so much opportunity and I know the Lord will provide and lead me right where He wants me. In that, please pray for the Lord’s provision and guidance for whether or not He would have me go on one or even both of those trips.
How to Get Involved:
Please pray:
-for me to lead the Middle School according to His character and will
-that I would make the most of every opportunity to disciple and encourage others to follow hard after Jesus
-that I would have patience in waiting and contentment where He has me
-protection from the wiles and scheme’s of the enemy; to be on guard always
-preparation and equipping for MS Winter Camp at the end of February
-provision and equipping for missions trips coming up, that the Lord would provide for either or both of those trips He would have me go on.
Thank you for partnering with me in taking the Gospel to the nations,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2023/01/13/happy-new-year/

How are you doing?! It was good to return to Calvary Rosarito, and to come alongside Calvary Chapel Homex again. This trip focused on outreach this year!
One of my favorite moments was getting to do outreach with CC Homex. We had jump houses, face painting, food distribution, and a lot of sharing with people about Jesus. While we were in the park, a man with an ice cream cart stood near the park ringing his bell. One of our team members went up and gave him a tract with a Gospel of John booklet. Those who kept an eye on what was happening saw that He was reading the Gospel of John… for a while… then, not too long after, another team member gave him some lunch. Shortly after, one of our pastor’s encouraged me to grab a translator and go and speak with him. I went with one of our translator’s Victor who translated for me as we got to ask questions and share the Gospel with Hugo. We learned that he had just moved up to Baja California from Mexico City. As we talked with Hugo it became quickly apparent that he was ready. Tears began to stream down his face, and even more so as I began to explain his (our) need for Jesus. I asked him if he wanted to, “receive the forgiveness that only Jesus could offer him,” and he said yes! Please be praying for Hugo as we were able to connect him with the pastor of Calvary Homex and were able to get him a Bible. Lord willing we will see him next time too!
Another praise report would be that we got to see a man named Pasqual who we met in the dump in Rosarito last year. This was the same man who had been witnessed to for two years and had not wanted to give his life to Jesus, but we saw that fruit last summer. It was a huge blessing to see him at church in Homex this year during our trip. The Lord has done so much and is doing so much in these areas. Your prayers are effective as they are working—would you please continue to labor with us and pray for what He’s doing in Mexico.
In the middle is Pasqual sitting in at a church service at CC Homex.
What’s next?
I am going to be heading up the middle school ministry at the Rock! We have had our Jr.High and High School together for several years and in some ways it has sort of swallowed up our Jr. High so we are making the change to have our own Middle School ministry and I’m excited to see what the Lord is going to do! Please pray that the Lord would do what He wants to with His ministry! I’m excited to have an opportunity to help get a ministry started and I am really looking forward to getting to disciple the younger generation! In a seminary class I took I found out that 75% of those who give their lives to the Lord do so by the age of 13, then 85% do so by the age of 18. I just want to be faithful in what He’s set before me. My heart is certainly for missions and church planting and so I will still be seeking to go on short term trips wherever possible for when the Lord might open that door in the future.
As for trips that are coming up our church is going to Nepal this October! I’m excited to get to go and serve in a country where only 2% of people are believers. I am in need of your prayers and support for provision. The need for the trip is $1,200. I cannot get there on my own, but am looking forward to all that the Lord will do in that time. It’s been a very stretching and growing season, but I know the Lord is placing me right where He wants me. Since I last sent out an update I had been feeling led to start pursuing my MDiv. After being accepted into seminary I completed my first class this last fall; it was great! As I began I was thinking that I would be able to move into full-time schooling while working full-time and being in ministry part-time, but the pricing for tuition is too much for me to afford right now (especially as I was hoping to get scholarships and financial aid). At present, the door on pursuing that lengthy of a degree would seem to be shut, but should He reopen that door then I would gladly continue those studies.
All of that said, my time has been very full. I’m working as close to full-time as possible 34-40 hrs a week (I’m also about a year away from being able to get a license in cabinet-making which could be a great tent-making skill should the opportunity arise), as well as serving where I can with various ministries at my home church. I’m still helping with our youth group, with our young adults, and with leading our evangelism team.
Since we last talked, we’ve been able to have another person take over my position training the youth to lead worship. The hope is to have a disciple-making impact on the kiddos where we not only teach them what it means to worship the Lord, but train them up so they can lead worship without one of us leaders aiding them. They’re getting closer and closer. I’m helping still, but slowly trying to transition out. It’s a ministry that takes a lot of time, but it’s well worth it seeking to train up the next generation of worship leaders in our church. Please pray for continued wisdom on how to do this in the most effective way as well as for the Lord to really work in the hearts of the kids to take it seriously.
Elsewhere in youth ministry I’ve had the opportunity to be meeting with a student one on one and we are currently going through the book of Hebrews. My whole aim is to get him to a place where, once we finish Hebrews, he will be able to know how to effectively and properly study the Word of God for both the enrichment of his own faith, but to train and disciple others as well. Prayers for this young man to continue to grow in his faith would be much appreciated, and for me to lead and teach him effectively as well. With that said I would very much like to do this on a larger scale with our youth as well as our young adults. Please pray that the Lord would help me to take every opportunity to disciple the young men God has placed in my life—and to be the example Jesus would have me be. That I would be able to say with confidence, “follow me as I follow Christ,” (1 Cor. 11:1).
What’s Next?
Earlier in June we finished up our missions trip to Mexico (I will send a short update soon as to what that trip looked like)! It was a really blessed time to get to serve alongside some Calvary church plants in the area and do some outreach!
The next trip on the docket is an opportunity to go to Nepal on a short-term trip in October. Please pray that if the Lord wills He would open the door for me to go as I will certainly need to raise support to go on that trip.
Please pray for me that the Lord would give me wisdom on where He would have me go for long-term missions or even if He has for me to play a different role in discipleship, pastoring, and church planting. The Lord is continuing to stir my heart for the lost, for the unreached, and to go and pastor through church planting and missions, and want to be apart of that no matter where He sends me. I know He has given me a heart is to train up pastors and send them out to church plant on their own. The Lord has given me a great opportunity to intern (outside of work) under our missions pastor who is a SGWM missionary. The Lord has been continuing to give me opportunities to teach at our young adults and youth group alongside different worship leading opportunities as well.
How Can You Help?
Would you please partner with me in prayer? I cannot do any of what I do without the empowerment that comes by His Spirit. Please pray that He would give me wisdom on how to best use my time and to prepare for what He has to come. That I would be faithful in the little that I might be able to handle whatever He has in store. As I began I was thinking that I would be able to move into full-time schooling while working full-time and being in ministry part-time, but the pricing for tuition is too much for me to afford right now (especially as I was hoping to get scholarships and financial aid). Thank you so much for all of your prayers regarding our Mexico missions trip, it was an absolute blessing. It is amazing to get to be a part of what God is doing when we allow ourselves to be used by Him.
Mexico Missions Trip
About a month and a half ago we left for Rosarito where we helped come alongside multiple church plants to do outreach and make Jesus known. There were different work projects, opportunities to love on orphans, and door to door evangelism. The common theme is that the Lord showed His goodness!
Some of my favorite moments were coming alongside CC Homex where we got to go do an outreach in a local dump. We had an awesome opportunity to give out food and love on and talk with many of those who live and work there. Pastor Eddie and many others go out weekly to witness and minister to those living there; so we got to come alongside them this time. There were a few of us who were talking with an older man named Pasqual. Through a translator (along with her own conversing) we were able to talk with him and share Jesus! There came a point where I asked him if he wanted to give his life to Jesus and he said yes! Little did we know (as we found out later that week) that for the last two years many had tried to reach him. Time and time again they would ask if he was ready to give his life to the Lord, and become a disciple, and he would say no. That day he said yes. He already knew pastor Eddie so there was a connection where he could be followed up with. After we returned home we were sent a picture of pastor Eddie bringing him to church, and he had a big ol’ smile on his face. Thank you for praying that God would have His way. I’m so thankful for an opportunity to be able to make Him known!
What’s Next?
As of right now there are at least a couple more missions opportunities on the horizon. We do not have the dates yet, but the first one would be to Maui to help with some work projects there and hopefully with some outreach and evangelism too. As far as the long-term my heart is absolutely to do church planting and missions, but in this more immediate season I am hoping to attend seminary for a Master’s degree. My hope is to begin with a class this semester through Dallas Theological Seminary. In that, my hope is to continue working at the cabinet shop while serving at my home church!
How To Get Involved:
My greatest need is prayer, so would you please be praying? Apart from His strength, apart from the empowering of His Holy Spirit, I can do nothing. Please pray that Jesus would have His way in me and that I would be conformed to His image. This season the Lord has been reminding me of His faithfulness. No matter where I find myself, no matter how burdened, weary, happy, or content I might feel, He is faithful. Will we take Him at His Word?
What’s Happening?
Thank you for your prayers and support! Thank you for reading these updates; it means a lot! The greatest need in any ministry is prayer, and God answers! Evangelism has been going well. I lead the evangelism team every Saturday afternoon to share the Gospel in our community. This past week during our outing, a brother and I got to talk with a young man who, in the midst of uninterested peers, felt conviction and was dealing with true searching for a life of purpose and meaning in the midst of this worlds temptations. Pray for Alan, that the Lord would work in his heart and mind, that he would make the greatest decision that will carry the most importance of any in his life—that he would surrender to Jesus and be saved! Youth group is growing and doing well as is our young adults ministry. The Lord has been giving continued opportunities for teaching and discipleship which has been a blessing.
How To Get Involved
In June I will be heading down to Mexico on a young adults missions trip that I have the opportunity to serve with. We will be coming alongside a local church body to aid in outreach and some work projects as well. Please pray that:
-The Lord would go before us and prepare the hearts of those to whom we’ll speak.
-The Lord would fill us with His Spirit to go and share the Gospel.
-There would be team unity.
-There would be provision financially for care packages for families as well as for team members to go.
-We would remain healthy leading up to and through the trip.
-We would have discernment and wisdom from the Lord in conversations and circumstances.
-We would have grace crossing the border. That the enemy would be stopped from hindering or distracting.
-The Lord would reveal and help us to walk in our gifts and callings.
-The Lord would stir in the hearts of us and others for missions, church planting, and reaching the lost.
Things regarding weekly ministry that I could use prayer for:
-Weekly discipling of the kids on the youth worship team and teaching them in music and what it means to worship, along with some upcoming workshops to train them in that as well.
-Weekly evangelism, that the Lord would give us discernment, wisdom, the words to speak, and the willing hearts of people to come out with us for and during that time as well.
-Working and interning, that I would balance my schedule and time properly and be faithful in what the Lord has given to me.
-Strength and energy to walk in those things.
-Growth where I need it, and that I would cling to and seek the Lord above all else.
-I have started applying to seminaries, and am waiting to hear back from the one I would like to attend. Please pray for strength, provision, and perseverance as I continue on in my education for His glory!
For those of you who might feel called to partner with us financially during our time in Mexico here is a giving link. Specifically with the youth group and young adults. It’s wonderful to see how God is stirring hearts toward Himself. I’ve had the opportunity to be more proactive with evangelism and have helped launch a group that goes out every weekend to share the Gospel and do some one on one evangelism. When we go out, we talk with people about what they believe and why so we can find common ground to point them to Jesus.
“Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. We had the opportunity to help with an outreach to the homeless where we had quite the group! It was a great time to go out and pass out care packages and share the Gospel with people and give the kids an opportunity to grow and learn in that too.
Every week we go out there is usually a young man named Connor and we keep sharing with him, but he claims atheism. Please be praying for him that the Lord would convict his heart and that he would receive the Gospel!
I’ve also been blessed to be able to help lead worship with the youth group and have begun helping with the new believer’s class here at the church. There are a lot of opportunities for discipleship. Please pray that I would take the ones He places in front of me.
How To Get Involved
As of yet I still do not know exactly where the Lord is leading me next. Sometimes this can leave me feeling restless, but this is clearly a season of preparation for whatever He has in store. Your prayers in this are greatly appreciated. It can take around 2 years and equipping just to get on the field after the Lord does show where. Please pray that He would help me to walk in obedience and faithfulness in all that He has put in my care, to trust, wait, and that He would continue to grow me into the man He has called me to be; to lead in a way that exemplifies my Savior.
This past year plus has been pretty difficult for most people. That next Sunday, I drove back down to Southern California where I started back up at work and serving at church. Initially, I had thought I would be living in Murrieta for a time and continuing to serve at Calvary Murrieta. All while seeking to pursue readiness to church plant and do missions. However, fairly quickly, it seemed clear the Lord had something different for me to do.
Closing Doors Leading to Open Ones
During my time visiting family in the Bay area, I began to feel the Lord stirring and tugging on my heart to come back to the North Bay area. Not until September did I begin to feel more convinced that this was the move I needed to make. Fairly recently, a missionary family had moved off the field due to Covid and the Lord opened the door for them to come and be a part of my family at Calvary Chapel the Rock. In that, the Lord has opened the door for me to come back to Sonoma County and begin preparing to be sent to do missions and church planting. Not only has that door opened for preparation for missions, but also to serve and be there for my family. God is good and I’m thankful for His gracious leading.
Time To Dig In
A few weeks ago, I made the move back up to Sonoma County. Seeing the Lord’s provision for my time down in Southern California and to return home has been amazing. To everyone down in Southern California, you’ve all become family to me and you will be dearly missed! Thank you for all of your prayers and support. I look forward to visiting you all soon! As for now, I’ve been working around building projects, being part of a small leadership group learning about Theology and Discipleship, and looking for work. It’s been good to be back and to be a part of what the Lord is doing. I know this is a time to be faithful in the little things so that I might be proved faithful in what’s to come (Luke 16:10). This season is one of preparation and there are times where it’s going to be difficult, but I look forward to what the Lord is going to do.
How To Get Involved
Would you please pray? As you’ve been praying and partnering with me in that way; I hope you know that the Lord has been answering. Would you please continue to pray for direction on where the Lord will be sending me. Also, pray that He would truly burden my heart for the place that He desires to send me. Please pray that I would be faithful in this season to study well and to truly prepare for what the Lord has to come. I am also asking the Lord for work during this season that could even be a skill that I would can use in missions.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. He’s really been speaking to my heart about surrender. I want to thank you all for coming alongside me and praying for the ministry and outreach that we’re doing here at the Calvary School of Missions here in Mexico. Again, I could not be here without your partnership, investment towards the Gospel, and God’s call on my life. Not only has this time been great for reaching people with the good news of Jesus, but it’s been a wonderful time for growth and preparation in taking Jesus to the nations. Our classes have laid a biblical foundation for what Church planting and missions is to look like. We’ve had seasoned, long-term missionaries share their testimonies as well as teach classes which have been crucial in forming a proper understanding of what we will face on the field as we go.
Advance
I completely understand that right now is a really difficult time for many. Covid has stirred up a lot of fear and worry in this season of life. Those are the sorts of things that cause us to want to retreat and keep to ourselves, but we have to remember that this is a crucial time. A time that should stir within us the importance of making the Gospel known; and not only that, but to help meet the physical needs of those around us as well (as safely as possible). Right now is the time to advance the Gospel, and for the students and leaders here we continue to count the cost as we go out to serve these communities.
The Lord has used us to be able to bless a lot of families here in the local Church. This last week we took the opportunity to love on a couple of different communities by providing Covid relief: food packages, getting to spend time with those in need, playing games with kiddos, sharing testimonies, and the Gospel with many of the adults who attended. At both events, I was able to share a brief testimony of how the Lord has saved me, and what He has done in my life. Our hope is that the Lord would use the testimonies given by all to plant seeds in the unbeliever and encourage our fellow believers.
At the first Covid relief outreach we went to a neighborhood that had a lot of need. When we got there we went out and invited everyone we could to come and join us for the afternoon! One of my favorite parts was to get to hang out with the kiddos at the end; to get to hear their laughter, and to get to see them run around playing with their balloon animals and swords. I’m really thankful we got to go. Please pray that they would think on the Bible story that was shared, that they would think on how much the Lord loves them, and that they would seek to run after Him! The second outreach was held at a church not too far away from where we are staying. I had the privilege of getting to pray with an elderly man named Juan (his son is the pastor at that church). We were able to pray for his other son who was not walking with the Lord as well as Juan’s grandson. What a precious thing the desperate cry of a father is; our God hears!
After serving and attending church on Sunday we were able to go out to a local park, share the Gospel, and give out invitations to church with Gospels of John (in Spanish). We split up in multiple groups to engage with the people there. It was a really great time to see the younger people of our group being pushed out of their comfort zones and growing to enjoy talking with people about their faith. Thank you for your prayers—God is absolutely using them!
How To Get Involved
Would you like to continue to be a part of what God is doing in my life, and for the sharing of the Gospel? Sometimes it’s sad how quickly time flies, but I’m thankful for all that the Lord has been doing. My life would not have been the same if I had not answered the Lord’s call to CSOM this summer. He’s directed and spoken to me in ways that wouldn’t have happened if I had stayed home. Thank you for all of your prayers and support in this season!
Re-Cap
One of the key theme’s of our last week was faithfulness and the importance of showing up as a Christian and in ministry. I certainly need the Lord’s help to grow in my follow through. I want my yes to be yes and my no to be no (Matt. 5:37). We began our last week of classes by hearing from a church planter down in Southern Mexico. He lives in a very dangerous area, but despite that, God is adding people to His Church. In that, we got to hear more of the realities that await those who church plant; the struggles, the times of loneliness, but the assurance of knowing and following God’s call allows us to walk in those seasons. Getting to hear his story of God’s faithfulness in the face of great darkness was needed. We might not know what’s next, but He calls us to pray! As our final class came we were able to re-cap what the Lord has been showing us through our six weeks in Baja California. Man, what a full six weeks it was. I’m so thankful for the relationships the Lord allowed me to build and grow during this time, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what God wants to do in this season with all of us!
Outreach
During our final week we only had one outreach, but it was a sweet one. We were able to go to an area near Tijuana where we got to have a time of worship and teaching for the adults and the Lord helped me to teach the kids about Jonah. It was so much fun to get to play games and color with them. They really enjoyed red light, green light; our translator Jessica did a fantastic job! To finish everything out we gave out food relief to help families in need during this pandemic. The Lord used it, thank you for praying!
Abiding
As we went into our debrief weekend, we went through John 13-17 seeing God’s heart and commission for us—His people. I know that no matter what comes I am called to abide in Jesus. As that happens He will take me right where He wants me. The encouragement and growth that the Lord brings is a beautiful thing and I am so looking forward to what He has in store. He has to be the priority; I can’t do any of it without Him.
How To Get Involved
Since I’ve been back the Lord has really been providing for me financially, and definitely guiding me in what’s next. Thank you for praying. The Lord hears prayer, He is gracious, and He pours out His love upon us in so many ways. He has been working things out with my car and finances so thank you very much for praying for those needs! He knows our need and He answers. Would you please continue to pray:
That the Lord would make me faithful in all I do. That the Lord would provide me with a job as I pursue an internship. That the Lord would grow me in my gifts and callings. That I would be faithful to walk them out. For direction on when to move. That I would grow in my knowledge of the Word and living it out. That I would promote growth and unity in the Church wherever I go. For safe travels. That I would be a good caretaker of all that the Lord has put in my hands. “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Jesus has been showing me so much, and I can’t wait to see what’s next—thank you for being His hands and feet in my life. It honestly just kinda blows my mind that the Lord wants to use me to bring honor and glory to His name. Wow, thank You Jesus!
Hungarian Schooling
Our class sessions have been amazing. We were able to have Phil Metzger as one of our teachers this past week. The reason this was so special is because he and his wife were missionaries for 20 years in Eastern Europe. They have firsthand experience with taking the Gospel to the nations. Hearing those experiences is an absolute treasure for someone seeking to do the same. I think one of the things the Lord was really revealing to me was that I’m not called to make disciples of my culture. As an ambassador of Jesus, I am called to meet other people where they are at, and to be Jesus’ hands and feet in their lives. When I understand their culture better I can know how to properly bring the Gospel. If I don’t, I may hurt my opportunity to make the Gospel known there. Friday’s class played a huge role in all of this as well because Pastors Joel and Mike from SGWM spoke on true worship. The Lord used this to remind me that my purpose and motivation for all that I do is to be done out of love for Jesus—to worship Him! You guys, we get to worship the one true living God!
No Time to Be Picky
The outreaches I helped with this week were a little different than most we’ve had so far. Ultimately, plans in ministry are subject to change. Chuck Smith used to say something along the lines of, “blessed are the flexible for they will not be broken.” We got to experience this firsthand with our outreach on Saturday. Even though things looked different than we thought, the Lord had a sweet plan where He gave us the opportunity to do some physical labor to help out. In that, we were able to get to spend time with and enjoy our brothers and sisters there. Originally, we had planned to go and serve through teaching and kids ministry, but that wasn’t the need. We got to get our hands dirty instead.
Running a church is hard work (not that I know from firsthand experience). When a ministry or new work is being started with a set amount of people it’s a huge blessing to have an infusion of 10 plus workers into your crew for a day. It was a blessing to be able to go and serve and love on these sweet people. Being able to share, between both of our groups how God has changed our lives. I’m thankful that the Lord used us to refresh His people. One of my favorite moments was being able to sit around with everyone and listen to Pilar, the wife of the associate pastor at that local Calvary, share her testimony. It’s an amazing thing when someone sits down with you, a group nonetheless, and shares all that God has done for them.
So many things can distract us and act as obstacles in our path. Maybe things don’t go as we’d planned, but God is so good, and we get the opportunity to go and be His hands and feet wherever He takes us. Wherever you’re at, be encouraged. Remember that the Lord is with you, He loves you, and that you, like us, have an opportunity to not only make Jesus known, but to encourage the believers around you by serving and loving them like Jesus.
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” -Galatians 6:9-10 (NKJV)
How To Get Involved
God has been doing a lot, and maybe you’ve been wondering, Jordon, why are you doing this school of missions? Well, I feel the Lord has laid on my heart to go and do missions. To take the Gospel to the nations (Matt. 28:18-20), and to do so wherever He leads. All I know right now is that this is a time of preparation, and as the Lord reveals what the next step is I want to be ready to respond in obedience to what He’s calling me to do. The Lord is growing my heart more and more for church planting, and flowing out of a church plant a school of ministry where locals in an area can come and be trained up in the Word of God. Then they would be able to be sent out to areas where they can far more effectively reach their people than I ever could. That heart is something that the Lord began to grow in me starting with my first semester of school at CCBC in 2014. If you feel led to give, there will be needs as time continues to go on. Needs for plane tickets, housing, and things like that. For going on scouting trips and then, of course, the actual going. If the Lord is stirring in your heart to be a part of what He’s doing and what He will do then there’s a link below to give. As we continue to do food relief and outreaches there will continue to be opportunity to bless those communities we visit with food and other things that they might need. If you have a heart to add to the blessings in these outreaches, then you are more than welcome to do that as well. With that in mind, our greatest need is prayer, so if you would please continue to pray:
For continued wisdom and discernment as we go out For boldness to share the Gospel For me (and all of us) to be completely yielded to the Spirit in all I (we) do For provision for everything that is needed upon going back home For me to serve and place the needs of others above myself For health, safety, and protection for the team and I For continued leading and direction for where the Lord is leading me That we would continue to come alongside and support the church plants we are helping and be a blessing to them That we would all walk in unity That above all, the Lord’s will would be done “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV)
With love, in Christ,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2020/07/29/pressing-on/

Man, 3 weeks!

Can I just say what a blessing it is that you’ve taken the time to come and see what God is doing in my life. I think one of the greatest issues is becoming complacent while in ministry. Learning how to better foster my relationship and walk with the Lord has been a huge blessing. Your prayers have been at work the whole time we’ve been in Mexico—thank you! You’ve been praying for unity, and the Lord has helped us to walk in unity. You’ve been praying for boldness in sharing the Gospel, and the Lord has been giving it. He’s been giving wisdom and discernment. He has been keeping us in good health, and He is guiding; thank you.
Back To The Basics
This past week the Lord has been making me more aware of pride in my heart and my great need to walk in humility with Him. I am to truly identify with Jesus, and as His follower, I need to humble myself before Him and bring my purpose and reason for being in alignment with His. I am to bring Him glory (John 15:8). Both of our books this week, Humility by Andrew Murray and The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, spoke on our need to die to self, cling to Jesus, and pursue Him! It’s been a blessing to see how God speaks at just the right moment to draw us closer to Him and to move us from grace to grace in our walks with Him.
Church Planting and Cambodia
This week we got to hear from an experienced church planter who is working in Cambodia right now. He shared about some of the challenges that church planters face. When dealing with cultural norms, some will be different from what I am used to, but that doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. Others, however, need to be corrected through the Word and discipleship. This was a sweet time, as I’m praying about whether the Lord would have me go to an Asian country to church plant.
Conference in Baja
This week’s teaching was appropriately tied in with church planting, as we got to attend the CC Rosarito Church Planting Conference here in Mexico. There were some huge themes of perseverance in the face of opposition and discouragement. To remember that we are called to faithfulness. It was a great reminder when one of the speakers shared that church planting is the building block laid upon evangelism and discipleship. Those two things are the direct outpouring of the believer as they walk with the Lord, and it leads to believers walking in what it looks like to be the Church.
Highlights
I think some of my favorite moments this week were hanging with kiddos. While serving during one of the afternoon sessions of the conference, I got to help watch the kids while parents were attending the conference. It was really fun getting to hang out with a bunch of the kids; one of whom (his name was Orlando) was part of a family that CC Rosarito was sending out to start a church in Guatemala. As we were leaving he wanted to know if I was going to be there the next day to play basketball, and I was just stoked to be able to serve and build relationships; even just briefly. It’s such a blessing to get to see what God is doing, and how He is growing His church. Another moment that stood out to me was during one of our outreaches at CC Primo Tapia where one of our translators, Jessica, and I got to help a man named Eduardo carry his food back to his home. We got to talk with him about the Lord. From our conversation it sounded like he was a believer, so we encouraged him to attend the church. Things have been pretty difficult for him, especially with this pandemic, and it was a blessing to be able to encourage him.
As followers of Jesus, we have a sweet opportunity to make disciples wherever we are. Regarding discipleship, we students were challenged to pray for the Lord to bring people into our lives to disciple; to point them to Jesus and teach them to follow Him. Would you be up for praying how the Lord might want to use you to help raise up someone in their faith and walk with Jesus? The reality is that we can’t, but with a willing, surrendered heart, God can use us to accomplish things we never thought could happen.
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” -2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (NKJV)
How To Get Involved
Our time here is coming to a close, we’ve got one week left to go, but there is still more to learn and more people to share Jesus with. I feel the Lord has been continuing to stir my heart for church planting, and I absolutely want to be obedient wherever He is leading. As for what is next, I definitely need the Lord’s wisdom. There are some opportunities for internships that can help prepare and grow me for being able to go out when He says to go. In that, I also wanted to share some of my financial needs. I was in an accident on June 13th and need new transportation. I’m looking at buying a car that’s in good shape from my family for ~$2,680 which would include ~$180 for registration and smog. Thankfully they are allowing me to make payments so that will be a huge help. There is also need for part of my rent ($350 total) for where I’m moving in to. If anyone would feel so led to give, the link is below. Most of all, would you please continue to pray; He knows exactly what He has:
That the Lord would continue to reveal where He would have me go.
That I would trust more deeply.
For where I should fulfill a potential internship, as there are a few different opportunities.
That the Lord would continue to give me opportunity to grow in the gifts and calling He has given.
For continued team unity.
For provision:
That my tax return would come in soon to help pay my bills
Finances for car.
Finances for rent (month of September).
To put into practice these things that the Lord has been teaching since early June.
For continued health, protection, and safety for myself and the rest of the team.
Please pray that everything learned and gained during this time would be kept and put into practice as I get back to the States.
Dios te bendiga, love you guys,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2020/08/12/humility-in-discipleship/

God is good,

We’ve really gotten into a good groove here. Thank you so much for being part of what God is doing. He’s using your prayers and support in so many ways. The unity between our team has been so great. I look forward to how these relationships will grow over the next two weeks. To be around like-minded people who love Jesus and want to make Him known is such a blessing.
Becoming A Student of Culture
Last week I was reminded of the spiritual war we find ourselves in as Christians. This world is filled with darkness and we have the antidote. We have Jesus and we have the amazing opportunity to tell people about Him. There are a lot of ways that the Lord has been breaking my heart for the lost. Did you know that there are about 17,000 unique people groups on this earth, and 7,000 of them have not been reached with the Gospel? That means that they don’t even have access to it. To put this into perspective, there are 1,000 churches for every 1 unreached people group. If more churches made it their goal to reach the unreached, then we could reach them in this lifetime! In regards to reaching them, I was also able to see how big of a barrier culture can be. With the Lord’s help, and a lot of patience we can reach communities all around the world for Jesus. People are headed toward a Christ-less eternity, and we have the answer. I believe the Lord has been stirring up my heart greatly for the unreached, and wherever He leads I will gladly go.
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!’” -Romans 10:14-15 (NKJV)
Christ Is Gain
At both of our outreaches this week we were able to bring the Gospel, and food relief for around 60 families. We had games and lessons for the kiddos, and shared testimonies as well as the Gospel with the adults. It was a really sweet time to build relationships with some of the people in these communities. At our first outreach there was a little boy named Josué that I got to connect with while playing football (soccer). It was really great to see the smiles on the kids faces as they played and had a good time with our team. At our second outreach on the Kumuyey tribe’s reservation, we got to meet a little boy named Abraham. He had been stung by a bee, and we were able to talk, help, pray with him, and one of our leaders, Bryan, was able to share with him about where his name comes from in the Bible. Please be praying for the Kumuyey as the pastor who served them died about a week ago. Right now there is a young man named Angel there in his place; please be praying for him, and also for someone to come out full-time and love and serve the group of believers there.
How To Get Involved
When we go on outreach we are going to give people Jesus, but our hope, flowing out of that, is to meet physical needs as well. If you would like to be a blessing as we continue, then please indicate that under the note section when giving. If you would like to partner with me in seeking to bring Jesus to those who do not know Him, and feel led to give, you can do that through the giving link as well. Again, the greatest need is prayer. Would you please pray:
For continued unity For boldness to proclaim the Gospel and meet people where they are at For a burden to reach those who do not know Him For us to be Jesus’ hands and feet while we are here For wisdom and discernment as we go out For continued provision For the Lord to continue to make callings clear For health, safety, and protection as we finish out our time here With all of this said, I’d love to hear how you guys are doing and how I can be praying for you!
“And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” -Acts 20:22-24 (NKJV)
Blessings,
-Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2020/08/04/none-of-these-things-move-me/

Time is flying!

We have had a lot of great opportunities to continue to grow and serve here in Mexico. Things have been crazy, but it’s been an amazing thing to see the Lord provide through your prayers and generosity. We serve a good good Father who knows exactly what we need, and He knows exactly how He desires to use us for His kingdom!
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! I finished getting things ready to move out of CCBC and was given a lift up to Yorba Linda. The next day the church at CC Saving Grace lifted us all up in prayer and we had an opportunity to serve as well. It was a great time getting to meet and bond with the rest of the team. We had a get together to prep for our departure which was the morning of the 6th, and thankfully everything went well. To give an idea, our schedule typically starts with devotionals at 7am, breakfast at 8am, class from 9am-noon, then lunch, either outreach or study time before dinner, and then a debrief or prayer meeting around 7-7:30pm.
So far, the Lord has been really stirring up my soul for the gifts and callings He has given me. Through the teachings and the required reading it has been such a blessing. The Lord is using it to get me pumped up and ready to serve and follow Him wherever He is leading. I’ve been reminded time and again the reality and necessity to truly count the cost and to take the Gospel to those who have not heard it. The reward that we have in Jesus far surpasses any risk we may find on this earth.
We’ve already participated in outreaches! We were able to partner with an expanding church plant out of CC Rosarito (Capilla Calvario La Gloria) by helping build a stage, going out into the surrounding area to invite people to come, and had opportunities to share the Gospel as well. That day I got to meet a young man named Pedro. He told me he had been baptized in Arizona and so I continued to speak with him about the Gospel and the great hope and eternal life the Christian has in Jesus. Please pray for him, he seemed very touched, and very interested to come check out that church plant.
We’ve attended services at Calvary Chapel Rosarito, and have had opportunity to serve during one of their services. This church has a great model for planting churches, especially in a foreign context, and I look forward to serving alongside them more. The Gospel is going out, and people are receptive! Please pray for these Church plants that they would continue to be effective in sharing the Gospel and discipling those they come in contact with.
If you could please pray for us:
Boldness to proclaim the Gospel To draw nearer to the Lord than ever before To aid the church plants we are coming alongside Unity within our team Soaking in all that we can regarding preparation for missions Protection and Health for the team For the Lord to reveal specifics of where He is calling each of us and to what capacity That the Lord’s will would be done “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
- Philippians 3:7-11 (NKJV)
Be encouraged Church, the Gospel is going out, the local body is being encouraged, and we’re being trained up to go and make disciples!
Bendiciones,
Jordon

https://archive.sgwm.com/voisin/voisin/2020/07/14/opening-week-of-csom-20/

Hola!

I really want to take a moment to thank you all so much for your prayers and support, I could not be here without it!
