Time absolutely flies! I keep trying to get back to an update every month and here we are doing three at once. A lot has gone on since April, and I’m thankful for all that the Lord has done and is doing. In the midst of the difficulties of missions, God is at work, and there are many blessings! Life is continuing with construction, teaching, and everything else that’s been the norm for our ministry! God is growing His church, and has provided a new property for us to call our own and begin building! It’s a blessing to see what the Lord is doing.

On the Horizon

February/March 2025

“Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.” —Psalm 37:1-8

Perspective

December 2024 and January 2025 Update

Sometimes it’s all too easy to get stuck in our own circumstances. Praise the Lord He’s with us. Praise the Lord we have this hope to ground ourselves in the truth when distractions and trials come: “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory,” (Colossians 3:1-4, NKJV). I’m so thankful for His faithfulness to continue to grow me heavenward, to know that He loves me beyond my greatest imagining, that my sins are paid for once and for all, and that He will neither leave me nor forsake me. He is more than able to place us where He wants us, and give us the strength to endure in any circumstance.

Growing in Grace…

October and November 2024

There comes a point in our walks with the Lord where He begins to test our trust in Him and in His Word more and more. I know the Lord has been working on this in me and it’s been stretching. I know that if He puts His chisel on me it’s because there’s an area of my life where I have not yet brought an emotion or action under His authority and light. Thank God, by His grace, He wants to grow us heavenward. I love what Chuck used to say, he might’ve got it from someone, but in response to some saying, “Don’t be so heavenly minded you’re of no earthly good,” he shared, “Be so heavenly minded you’re of every earthly good.” It’s easy to think, get your head out of the clouds, but I don’t think you can be too focused on Jesus. I think if your heart and mind are really and truly wrapped up in Him then you will be busy about the business He’s given you to do here on this earth. We have a purpose and a mission to make disciples during our time here (no matter where He sends us). Our time is short, let’s not let anything keep us from that goal—that aim. Jesus is the prize (Phil. 3:7-15). I think one of the enemy’s greatest tactics is to shame the people of God (it could be over something that happened yesterday or 10 years ago). Why do we keep bringing up things that Jesus has put away, with His blood, once and for all. It’s a tactic that, if we allow it, can debilitate the people of God. We have to remember how we’ve been redeemed. We must preach the Gospel to ourselves daily and remember His all sufficient sacrifice. The enemy wants to defeat the saints of God with shame, but the Lord wants to pick you up, dust you off, and help you keep moving forward; and all for the glory of His name. Nothing is greater than our God and King.

“His Grace Is Sufficient”

September 2024

In many ways I’ve found the Lord to be growing and stretching me much in this season. It’s easy to keep moving and maintain in the midst of busyness, but going deep, pressing in closer, and preparing for things to come adds a different twist. I know He’s growing me in this season to not just get by, but flourish and prepare for what’s next. It takes preparation, and much more of His grace. Such a season produces an understanding of my utter inadequacies, and my great need for more of Him and less of me. Paul exhorts us in his own struggle where the Lord encourages Him in his weakness, “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me,” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV). He is a good God, and no matter where I find myself. If I am feeling stretched and pressed on every side, if I feel my strength dwindling—surely He desires to show Himself strong in my life. He’s not setting us up for failure. He desires our purity, our pursuit of holiness, and our life to be lived for Him more than we do. I need His help to recognize where I’m not properly relying on Him to accomplish His will. Paul had strong words for the Galatians who sought to complete the work of God, in themselves, in their own strength. Lord, please give us the grace to understand, to see, to trust and see You glorified!

“A Taste of Home”

August Update — 2024

Already another month has gone by. Time has been absolutely flying and I find the Lord calling me closer and deeper than ever before. It’s so easy for all of me to get wrapped up in what I’m doing. I’ve been seeing the Lord, more and more, reminding me of His goodness, His gentleness, of His kindness and thoughts toward me. A Scripture that comes to mind is in Luke 10:38-42:

The Lord Is My Strength

Time is flying by! So much has happened in the last two months that it can be hard to place it all, but God is doing some amazing things! God is doing much in my heart as well. My strength is never enough and I constantly need more of His grace and the empowerment of His Spirit. As the Gospel of John tells us, we can do no good thing apart from Him (John 15:4). I’ve been seeing that power again and again in my life here on the field. Thank you so much for partnering with me, thank you for praying, and thank you for your faithfulness in the role’s you’re walking out in the kingdom of God.

Legacy…

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

-Proverbs 22:6 (NASB)

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”

Worthy of My Attention...

There always seems to be much to do, and sometimes it can be hard to balance all that’s before us. It can be so easy to get caught up and distracted in all of the little things that pop up in life that we can lose sight of what’s important. It can be far too easy to say yes and not have a plan to fulfill that word. There is a work–a task that He has called us to. If we allow Him, He will give us a grace that is sufficient for that task. It’s certainly not easy, but it’s worth it. He assures us that He will enable us by His grace to be all that He has called us to be. To give us the strength, and to empower our will by His Spirit for the glory of His name. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. There is nothing more worthy of our time and attention than the Lord, our relationship with Him, and what He has called us to.

February 2024-"Roaming On"

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9a

He indeed shows Himself strong… It’s official, it’s been more than a month since we left California. You all are missed, but I am so blessed to be here and I feel very much at home in what’s going on and where the Lord has me. Our schedules here are full to say the least, but in some really great ways. Living on a campus provides a very different structure to life and living. It’s been a blessing getting to know the students more and getting to sit in on their first class this semester.

I pray this update finds you well! It’s been a little more than one week of being sent out and living down in Peru. It’s already been a productive time and I am so blessed by all of the relationships that are being grown and the new ones being forged. I’m excited to see all that the Lord is going to do in this coming season and semester.

I hope this season of life has been one filled with joy and gratitude as we exit Thanksgiving and find Christmas upon us. I don’t know about you, but if I don’t take the time to slow down then I can often miss the important things the Lord has placed right in front of me. So much has been going on and it’s so easy to be so consumed with tomorrow that I miss out on today. Planning and preparation is needed, but Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Just one verse before He tells us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” The remedy for my busy and distracted heart is always more of Jesus. I pray in this season that He would help you to keep your focus upon Him and that He would help you to find joy and rest in the midst of all the chaos that life can bring.

Are You Ready: Part 2

A couple of Fridays ago I was teaching on Mark 13 to my Middle Schoolers, just asking them if they were really ready for Jesus to come back. Many said no, and the Lord got them thinking about it in ways they hadn’t before or in a while. A big question for me lately is, “am I ready for Jesus to come back?” My oh my has He been doing a work in my heart with that one. It’s been a very busy season of life, but I feel like it’s been a fairly productive one too. Its been amazing to see the Lords provision and strength as Ive been dealing with work, ministry, and some big transitions as I prepare to go to Peru. Many things have been weighing on my heart regarding family and other practical needs that need tending before I would leave for Peru. Many of those big things are being provided for as we speak, and I am looking forward to all that the Lord is going to do.

My Peace I Leave With You…

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 (ESV)

Hey fam,

I pray that this update finds you well, and that your lives are being more and more measured in the peace that only He can provide. For many of us this season has been turbulent and uncomfortable—to say the least. I pray this passage would be an encouragement to you in that season. My mind goes to a quote by C.H. Spurgeon, it goes something like this, “I have learned to kiss the wave that slams me into the Rock of Ages.” For me, this is a reminder to trust in His sovereignty in this season, and to recognize where He is drawing me closer to Him in the midst of my pain and sufferings. 1 Peter 4:19 says, “Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), His lovingkindness never fails, and we serve such an amazing God. He is trustworthy and worthy of my praise—even in the midst of my greatest trials and struggles. I pray that you would cast your every care on Him knowing that He cares for you, and that His love for you is beyond measure—it was displayed at Calvary, and His work for you upon that cross has brought a security of an everlasting kind. Peace He leaves with you…

He Is Faithful

One thing I feel the Lord has been impressing upon my heart more and more lately is to be faithful. My hope is that I have been, but there are always things to grow in, and I pray the Lord helps me to be a faithful witness of His until He returns or calls me home. Be faithful in the little thing—you’ll reap a harvest (Gal. 6:9), don’t despise the day of small beginnings (Zech. 4:10). If we are faithful in little, then we will be faithful in much (Luke 16:10). Lord, make us faithful in all things, and all for Your glory!

Rest in His Goodness

I hope that last month you got at least a glimpse of how great our trip to Peru was. I’m so thankful for all that the Lord has done. This summer has a lot in store, and I’m looking forward to what the Lord is going to do. My goal right now is to rest in His goodness and be faithful where He’s planted me in this season.

A lot has happened this last month, and I’m grateful for all that the Lord has done! As many of you know the Lord provided for me to go to Peru! What an amazing time it was. I got to meet so many amazing people, and come to find out, see many I hadn’t in a while. During our time there we were involved with many different things. We were able to do outreach, be a part of chapels for the Bible College, meet and interact with the students, attend Calvary Trujillo, and do lots of construction. Overall the Lord provided for an amazing time and opportunity.

The God Who Sees

Life so often presents its challenges, and the Lord allows trials to come our way. He teaches, He binds up, He restores the years the locusts have eaten, and He always makes a way. The enemy would seek to use such things to shipwreck us, but we serve a God who will use all things for His glory and make beauty from the ashes. My hope and prayer for you is that you would press deeply into Jesus in whatever season of life you find yourself—whether that be a season of breaking down or of binding up. It’s so worth it and the reward He gives is greater than anything this world has to offer. Eternal life forever more—thank you Jesus! I pray this past Easter left you praising our Risen King, finding hope in the midst of hardship, and eagerly awaiting His return!

Retreat, But No Surrender!

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.” -1 Corinthians 14:1-3 (ESV)

That is exactly what the Lord has given an opportunity for. The Rock has had two retreats in the last 3 weeks (that I’ve been a part of), and God is up to something good. It’s a privilege to play a role in helping disciple our middle schoolers and play a part in discipleship and being part of our young adults as well. The Lord is faithful, and I am thankful for the opportunities He’s given me and I want to make the most of them. This season of life has been crazy, and difficult, but rewarding. It amazes me how God can take trials and difficulties and bring about something for our good and His glory. This season has been a crucible, but He is ever purging the dross—and for that I am grateful. I am thankful for His careful watch, and the comfort of His Spirit. I pray that whatever season you find yourself in right now that you cling to Jesus, sit at His feet (Luke 10:38-42), and cast your care upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Nothing is too big for our God, and He delights in our faith—it’s so much more precious to Him than gold that is tested by fire (1 Peter 1:6-9).

The Lord Is My Helper

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” -Hebrews 13:5-6 (NKJV)

It can always be so easy to look at what we don’t have or what we think we need and grow weary or discontented. We live in a culture where everything is always pulling for our attention and demanding a response. In a culture like that, what a blessing to know we have a God and Savior who cuts right through it all, Who’s faithfulness, grace, and love is there for the taking, will we choose it? I know that’s something I must constantly check in my heart. The Lord is so good, ready to provide our every need, and He wants to be our contentment. He wants to be the fulfillment of our need. There is nothing greater than His love, and nothing greater than knowing and loving Him.

Happy New Year!

How are you doing?! I don’t know where you find yourself today, but I pray that you would be, “strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,” (Eph. 3:16). That you would know beyond a shadow of doubt His love for you, His great desire to draw you closer to Him, and to accomplish His will in your life. In 1 Peter, as he’s speaking of the great living hope we have in Jesus, he says, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,” (1 Pet. 1:6-7). Then later, in chapter 5:6-7, he states, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” The Lord loves you beyond your wildest imaginings and He displayed it through the giving and death of His Son on the cross. He is doing a work in and through you, and He will be faithful to keep you and complete that work in you (Phil. 1:6). Keep being a light for His glory!

Give

The Lord Provides The Increase

I wanted to quickly clarify that my longterm hope, prayer and goal is to plant churches, do missions, and aid in raising up the next generation of pastors! With all of that said, this season is one of preparation and I know that according to His faithfulness He will bring me where He wants me—so in this season of preparation I’m going to be faithful where He’s put me.

It’s been a very stretching and growing season, but I know the Lord is placing me right where He wants me. Since I last sent out an update I had been feeling led to start pursuing my MDiv. After being accepted into seminary I completed my first class this last fall; it was great! As I began I was thinking that I would be able to move into full-time schooling while working full-time and being in ministry part-time, but the pricing for tuition is too much for me to afford right now (especially as I was hoping to get scholarships and financial aid). At present, the door on pursuing that lengthy of a degree would seem to be shut, but should He reopen that door then I would gladly continue those studies.

He Is Faithful

The Lord continues to show His faithfulness in my life time and time again! Thank you so much for all of your prayers regarding our Mexico missions trip, it was an absolute blessing.
Exciting Things!

The opportunities here in Northern California have been a blessing and it’s really exciting to see what God is doing in our church. Specifically with the youth group and young adults. It’s wonderful to see how God is stirring hearts toward Himself. I’ve had the opportunity to be more proactive with evangelism and have helped launch a group that goes out every weekend to share the Gospel and do some one on one evangelism. When we go out, we talk with people about what they believe and why so we can find common ground to point them to Jesus.

On The Move

I am pleased to share with you that I completed the Calvary School of Missions on August 17th. Later that week I took a trip up to Northern California to visit my family and get my vehicle. That next Sunday, I drove back down to Southern California where I started back up at work and serving at church. Initially, I had thought I would be living in Murrieta for a time and continuing to serve at Calvary Murrieta. All while seeking to pursue readiness to church plant and do missions. However, fairly quickly, it seemed clear the Lord had something different for me to do.

Advancing the Gospel

Hey, it’s me again!

I never would’ve imagined all that the Lord would teach me in these first two weeks. He’s really been speaking to my heart about surrender. I want to thank you all for coming alongside me and praying for the ministry and outreach that we’re doing here at the Calvary School of Missions here in Mexico. Again, I could not be here without your partnership, investment towards the Gospel, and God’s call on my life. Not only has this time been great for reaching people with the good news of Jesus, but it’s been a wonderful time for growth and preparation in taking Jesus to the nations. Our classes have laid a biblical foundation for what Church planting and missions is to look like. We’ve had seasoned, long-term missionaries share their testimonies as well as teach classes which have been crucial in forming a proper understanding of what we will face on the field as we go.

Ready.
Hey you guys,

I made it back to the States on Aug. 17th. Sometimes it’s sad how quickly time flies, but I’m thankful for all that the Lord has been doing. My life would not have been the same if I had not answered the Lord’s call to CSOM this summer. He’s directed and spoken to me in ways that wouldn’t have happened if I had stayed home. Thank you for all of your prayers and support in this season!

Pressing On

Man, 3 weeks!

Can I just say what a blessing it is that you’ve taken the time to come and see what God is doing in my life. I can’t tell you how much it means to me. Jesus has been showing me so much, and I can’t wait to see what’s next—thank you for being His hands and feet in my life. It honestly just kinda blows my mind that the Lord wants to use me to bring honor and glory to His name. Wow, thank You Jesus!

Humility In Discipleship

God is good,

We’ve really gotten into a good groove here. I think one of the greatest issues is becoming complacent while in ministry. Learning how to better foster my relationship and walk with the Lord has been a huge blessing. Your prayers have been at work the whole time we’ve been in Mexico—thank you! You’ve been praying for unity, and the Lord has helped us to walk in unity. You’ve been praying for boldness in sharing the Gospel, and the Lord has been giving it. He’s been giving wisdom and discernment. He has been keeping us in good health, and He is guiding; thank you.

None of These Things Move Me

Time is flying!

We have had a lot of great opportunities to continue to grow and serve here in Mexico. Thank you so much for being part of what God is doing. He’s using your prayers and support in so many ways. The unity between our team has been so great. I look forward to how these relationships will grow over the next two weeks.
Hola!

I really want to take a moment to thank you all so much for your prayers and support, I could not be here without it! The Lord is using you guys! Man, what a season of life it has been (perhaps one of the most trying I’ve experienced), but I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness to display His power in my weakness. Before I get into what’s been going on here at CSOM I wanted to update you on a couple of things. First, I’m fully funded for the School of Missions program. Second, for anyone who has not yet heard the news I graduated from CCBC with my Bachelors on May 22nd. Things have been crazy, but it’s been an amazing thing to see the Lord provide through your prayers and generosity. We serve a good good Father who knows exactly what we need, and He knows exactly how He desires to use us for His kingdom!

It's Been A While...
