What’s going to happen in the world of politics? What’s going to happen in Bible Prophecy? Will we see more fulfilment of end times events?

G’day, Hope you are doing great. Just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This past year has been probably the most challenging year in our life and ministry, but we have learned and grown so much through it. Greetings and G’Day from Down Under. I can’t tell you how blessed we are to serve the Lord here in Melbourne, Australia. We will be celebrating our 5th year in this amazing country in just a few months. Wow, time has flown by!

We feel blessed that the Lord has brought Jason and Emma Wright (from the U.S.) here to serve along side of us. Jason will be serving as the Youth and Assistant Pastor. They are beginning to settle into their new home and are getting adjusted to the new assignment from the Lord. We wait in anticipation to see what the Lord has in store for them and us as we work together and launch into a new season of ministry. Here is their blog site if you which to read more about them: http://www.wrightfamily.blog.com/ Guest Speaking at the Bible College in New Zealand During the first week of April, I’ll be heading over to New Zealand to teach at the Bible College extension campus- http://www.ccbi.ac.nz/- in Rotorua, which is south of Auckland and north of Wellington. I’ve been asked to teach three sessions on what the Lord has put on my heart. At this time, here are some the message topics that I feel lead to address with the students: How to respond to others when they have hurt you; Restoring Broken Relationships; Hearing the Voice of God; The Secret of Contentment; and Encouragement and Exhortation for Leaders.

Greetings, I hope you are doing fantastic today. We are doing well. Today (oct 9th) is our Anniversary. It is amazing to see how quickly 11yrs can go by. God has been so good to us and brought us through some amazing things. Thank you so much for faithfully praying for us. Dear Family and Friends,

I hope you are doing great and that you had a blessed time celebrating the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Easter weekend. What an exciting time we had at our services! Over the past month, we have seen the Lord do some amazing things in the life of our church. The momentum is awesome and we have grown at least 30%.

February 2010 Update

I hope you are doing great and are have having a wonderful day. The month of January was a big one for us for several reasons. First, we moved into our wonderful new house, then we started several new studies at the church, and last we began the groundwork for our permanent residency visa. We have had the privilege to get to know and develop a good friendship with our new landlords. The Lord opened the door for us to share about the work He is doing here in Melbourne. We instantly made a connection with the family, and they shared with us that they have been looking for a church to attend. We invited them to come visit and they have come the last two weeks. It looks like they are going to make this their home church. They seem to be really enjoying the fellowship and the teaching of the Word. Praise God!

Can you believe it’s already December? Wow, this year has gone by so quickly! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. What a great time to spend with family and friends and reflect on the many blessings that the Lord has given us throughout the year. No matter what has happened to us, whether good or bad, happy or sad – there is always something to be thankful to our Lord for.

Greetings in Jesus name,

We hope you are having a fantastic and blessed day! This month has been demanding and challenging. We began many new series and are continuing to deal with some serious issues within the church. The Lord is in control and He never ceases to amaze me! It so thrilling to watch Him transform lives!

Two weeks ago Two weeks ago, I finished teaching though the book of James. As we went through this practical book, some of the major issues that were lingering in the hearts of the body were brought into the light. It was the Lords perfect timing in dealing with these issues. Here is one of the things I spoke on:

Can you believe it’s already December? Wow, this year has gone by fast! I think the older and busier you get, the faster time flies by. I don’t know about you but we always look forward to this time of the year. It’s a time to reflect on all that God has done in the past year, a time to celebrate the wonderful birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a time to look ahead at the incredible and exciting adventures the Lord has for us in the year to come.

I hope you are having a fantastic day! I know over the last week with the sudden shock of the earthquake and the news of Christopher Laurie’s (Pastor Greg Laurie’s son) tragic accident, it can be an emotional and draining time. One thing to keep in mind through it all is that God’s is sovereign and in control. We never know when our time or our loved ones time here on earth is up; therefore, we need to live our lives wholeheartedly for the Lord and be prepared each day as if it were our last.

Greetings Beloved,

I hope you are doing fantastic! We have been in Southern California for several weeks, and have adjusted well to the time change. We’ve had a couple of bouts of sickness, but God is good and we are all on the upswing. No matter how many times you travel, it is always an adventure and journey; from dealing with the airlines, customs, and one of your children getting very nauseous and vomiting several times during the flight. However, it is great to be back in the States, and was a blessing to attend the Senior Pastor’s Conference in Murrieta. We are excited to spend time with family & friends, and as many of our supporters as possible.

G’day, I pray you are doing great! I don’t know about you, but this month just flew by and I’m now barely finding my way through the dust. These past few months have been amazing; the Lord is working, molding, and shaping us and the church into what He wants us to be. As a family we are doing wonderful. We have become closer than ever before and are spending more quality time together. Niki and I have been stretched in the ministry and in our marriage like never before. During this stretching time we are trusting in the Lord for strength, help, provision, and daily wisdom.

Sometimes our days can be so packed full of tasks that we may feel overwhelmed like were drowning in the sea of life. The more we gaze at our situation or circumstance, the more we want to hide or take that walk to a secluded place where there are no worries.

G’day and Happy New Year,

What was 2007 like for you? Was it an awesome year? Or was it challenging and your just glad its over? We all have different thoughts and experiences, but the one thing I keep coming back to is no matter what circumstance I happen to go through, whether uplifting or difficult, the Lord is sovereign, in control and will remain on the throne.

I believe I grew more in my walk with the Lord this year than all my previous years as a Christian. I recently turned 33 years old and have just discovered heaps of gray hair. The pressure, stress, challenges, and adventure over the past year and a half has been demanding yet I’ve had such a blast.

This past month has been one of the toughest that I have ever had to go through in ministry. The issues that arose within the church were relentless. It has been a refining and pruning process, but at the same time, an exciting journey. During this type of process we not only grow personally but the congregation grows as well.

I hope you are doing great! Here is another wonderful update on what the Lord is doing here down under. We are overwhelmed by the encouraging responses from last month’s newsletter. We are thankful for your encouragement and support. It has not only uplifted our spirits, but also put the wind back in our sails to keep pressing on. It’s so easy to get disheartened, frustrated, and tired when you’re on the frontline getting hit, knocked down and criticized. As a good friend said to me, “Satan is a loser”. Whenever we are going through a difficult circumstance or a time of discouragement, please let’s come together pray and encourage one another. Amen.

It has been an awesome journey and an adventure here in Melbourne. I’ve been so stretched, challenged, overwhelmed, discouraged, and pumped up all at the same time. I see how the Lord is blessing the church here and how the people have grown in their walk with the Lord. But over the past month, I’ve sensed the Lord doing a radical work in my heart, in my life and in the ministry. I believe I have grown more in my walk, my faith and my love for the Lord than I have in a long time. The intimacy and the presence of the Lord has been so real and refreshing to me.

Wow What A Month!

Greetings from the Russell family,

This past month was one of excitement and momentum. To start out, we had a team from Refuge (our home church) that came to help and serve. We did a lot of practical service projects, which made a huge impression on the local community and school where the church is currently meeting. The second week the team was here; they helped run a youth camp down at Philip Island. It was a fruitful time and many teenagers came to the Lord. The team did a phenomenal job in serving, connecting and sharing the Lord with people here in Melbourne.

New Facility for the Church

We serve such an amazing God! He has blessed the church exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ever ask or think. The Lord opened the door for us to move to a bigger facility with more potential for growth. We are now meeting at a primary school, and have access to the gymnasium and three large classrooms. In the past week, we have added four youth to the congregation. It is so exciting to see what the Lord is doing and how he keeps adding to the church. We are overwhelmed by God’s grace, guidance, and goodness.

What a year last year was….

Wow what a year 2006 has been. It was an adventure and a roller coaster all at the same time. The whole process of moving your family to the other side of the world and transitioning to the role of senior pastor is mind boggling. The challenges, the set backs, the frustrations, the emotions, and the excitement. It’s hard to understand sometimes why God in His divine sovereignty chose us for this awesome opportunity to pastor here in Melbourne Australia. One of the hardest things about moving to a new country and having a new and demanding role is the family dynamics. We are blessed to have the office in the home, but trying to find balance between the ministry and family hasn’t been the easiest. There is so much to do in pastoring the church and it never seems you can get caught up or ahead. Even if I put in ninety hours a week, there is always more to do. My focus this year is to have better balance with my family time. My family is my ministry. They are the most important thing in my life. They need me and I need them. What would it profit if the church became the largest church in the region and I lost my family in the processes. Again – we all need balance. Being away from family during the holidays was hard. We had some tough moments. But we know the Lord has us here for a reason and purpose. We do love the assignment that we have. We do have moments when our emotions get the best of us. We must keep pressing on, and continue to be focused. As you know from the last newsletter, we had a team from Calvary Chapel West Grove come out. It was an awesome time of ministry. I would have to say it was one of the best teams I’ve seen. Being on the receiving end was very different than being on the sending end. I loved putting together the agenda, the strategy, and the schedule for the ministry. It was great to see the team execute the plan and objective, and I look forward to seeing more teams come out.
