Record Family Cambodia Update

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. Fo r where your treasure is, there also will your hearts be." (Matthew 6:19:21) Thieves attempted to break in to the Light Times Magazine office. The founder and his family used to live in the building but after they moved out, the building became more vulnerable to thieves. We thank God that the thieves were not able to break into the office where the computers and cameras were stored. Since then, the office has been in the process of moving. However, it has taken a long time to get the Internet set up so it wasn’t possible for Darryl to work there for a couple of weeks. Darryl continues to edit articles and writes one article per issue. He also wrote an article on the evidence for the resurrection for the upcoming Easter issue. ...

Record Family Cambodia Missions Update January 2018.

Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:5 NKJV It is hard to believe that the Christmas season and January have passed so quickly! We have been busy and blessed. We thank God that Kayo’s and Benjamin’s Cambodian visas were renewed for another year. Please pray that the same path for renewal will remain open for Darryl in the middle of this year. ...

Merry Christmas From Cambodia

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 Benjamin continues to do well in school. Here is a picture of his “ninja-bread” cookies that he made with Kayo. Darryl continues partnering with Light Times Magazine the only Christian magazine in Cambodia. For their last issue he helped with editing the English of this bilingual magazine and he wrote an article, “Why Does God Allow Suffering.” Two Light Times volunteers are working to make that article into a video in the Cambodian language. Even though it is faster for Darryl to make videos on his own, the quality improvement will be worth the wait. Darryl is also helping with the international church’s ministry to Chinese, by helping them learn English and the Bible. Translation has started for making a video “Why Does God Allow Suffering?” in Mandarin (Chinese). Making apologetic/evangelistic videos in Chinese has been a dream of Darryl’s for several years. Finally it is coming true! Darryl is also teaching English and Bible at Jesus Life Center, a Cambodian church and dormitory. He was also able to supply evangelistic videos for a Christian business owner here in Cambodia to show to his employees. ...

Bread Upon the Waters

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. Ecclesiastes 11:1 ESV Sometimes in life and ministry we don’t see the fruit immediately. Especially in media ministry Darryl often feels that his calling is to take the gospel to people that he will never meet, in languages he will never speak, in places he will never go. Normally it is fine to trust God that someday in heaven he will get to meet the people who have read his books, listened to his radio programs, and watched his videos. But, sometimes it is nice to receive some feedback. ...

Cambodia Missions Update

“Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some," When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish." John 21:6 God blessed us with a productive month of July as we returned to our various ministries. Here are some of the highlights. Darryl’s new video, Archaeology and the Bible, in the Cambodian language, was made available to more than 29,000 Cambodians via Facebook. It received more than 1,600 views from www.facebook.com/internationalfishers alone. It also received 140 likes and 86 shares from two of the smaller pages that we can track statistically. ...

Cambodia Missions Update

Greetings from Cambodia! Then he said,“Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!”So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it. John 21:6 We arrived in Cambodia on June 2 and God has been faithful to us. We have been able to reconnect with our ministry partners. Darryl has been working on producing a video in Khmer and English entitled, The Bible and Archaeology. He is also writing and revising other video scripts for future projects and some blog posts as well. The website, www.internationalfishers.com is ministering to Cambodians in Cambodia and in the USA as well. Around 288 people visit the website each week. This is an encouraging number considering our eleven month sabbatical. ...

In less than a month, on June 1, we will fly back to Cambodia. We have a lot of packing between now and then and once we get there we will need to buy a car and find a place to live. Record Family Cambodia Update: Returning to Cambodia

Isaiah 41:10b _I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand._We praise God for opening the doors for us to return to Cambodia as missionaries! We will be returning to Cambodia on June 1 after nearly eleven months away. We look forward to this new season of ministry. We have been blessed by our time in the USA but now the time is coming to move into the next season. Please pray that it will be a fruitful and blessed season. We want to thank everyone who prayed, encouraged, hosted, loaned us vehicles, and supported us during this time of furlough. We trust that God will bless you for your faithfulness to Him. Once we return to Cambodia, Darryl will resume his work with International Fishers: Christian Evidence Ministry. The purpose of this ministry is to equip local churches, organizations, and believers with the evidence they need to be confident in the truth of God’s Word so that they can evangelize others with more boldness. He will also resume other ministries as God opens the doors. He is writing a video script on the inspiration of the Bible so that he can hit the ground running once we return. Please pray for renewed creativity for him. ...

Merry Christmas from the Record Family/Cambodia Missions Update

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV 2016-07-06-21-10-55 As we come to the end of 2016, we have the opportunity to reflect on the past year and to look forward to 2017. After serving as missionaries since 2007, 2016 has been a year of reflection, rest, reading the Word and other books, and reconnecting with family, friends, and our calling as missionaries to Cambodia, a real sabbatical. We are thankful for all of the grace and blessings we have received. We also give thanks to God for providing for our practical needs of housing, transportation, and finances through faithful ministry partners, church family, and some other amazing miraculous ways. ...
