I am in Awe

As I sat to write this newsletter I honestly didn’t know where to start. Not because I had so many exciting things to share, but because I feared I had nothing worth sharing. So I prayed and honestly tried to find an excuse not to write it, but as I pondered all that God has done since January (my last newsletter) I am in awe. And it may not look like a lot in the sense of activities I did, but let me tell you, God is moving! ...

Faithful with the Small Things

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. " Luke 16:10 You just spent 6 weeks in Mexico, where your heart was exposed to the realities of people who have never heard the gospel, you were hearing both good and bad from current missionaries all around the world, and you were intensely involved in day-to-day ministry and outreaches. You became engrossed with the heart wrenching fate that 3.2 billion people may be born, live, and die without ever hearing the Gospel. Then, you come home to leave all, ready to see where God may send you, and He says wait. ...

Braiding for the Kingdom

Some would see language as a barrier, I saw an opportunity. As some of you who have been following my newsletters know, my last update was on my way to the Cora tribe. A tribe located in Mexico that had not been impacted by the gospel yet. We flew to Culiacan, Mexico, then took an 11 hour bus ride up a mountain. Upon arriving our pastors had to meet with the counsel men of the tribe to get permission to stay. Permission was granted so we went to work setting up tents and tidying up. We were able to hang with a few of the kids who were curious as to why we were there. They spoke mostly their own language separate from Spanish. But rather than seeing it as a huge hurdle I had to jump, the Lord showed me it was an opportunity for love. So, with my mediocre braiding skills some of us girls started braiding the girls’ hair and they did ours! It was a moment that reminded me how much my actions matter to those I am sharing Christ with, and was a great start to our weekend there! ...

How Could They Know?

“All our lives we might talk of Jesus, yet we should never come to an end of the sweet things that might be said of Him” The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer How many things can you, off the top of your head, say about Jesus? I stand with the quote above that it is innumerable. Now imagine how hard that would be if you have never heard of Jesus. 3.4+ Billion people have never heard of what Jesus did for them on the Cross, which means they have never heard the gospel. We call those people Unreached, where it’s likely they will be born, live, and die never hearing it. With this lack of hope they turn to other things such as idol worship. This is what we were learning a lot about while we had Pastor Rob Douglass here teaching us last week. The Lord really opened my eyes to the harsh realities that flood most of the earth and it simply broke my heart. Two passages that describe my heart recently are the following ...

Absolute Surrender, Dependency, and Awe

“My relationship is just this: I am utterly given up to the vine, and the vine can give me as much or as little sap as it chooses. Here I am at its disposal and the vine can do with me what it likes” Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray Would you ever give someone you didn’t know complete control over your kids, your career choice, your finances… or even the smallest things like your grocery list? No, of course not. We would give those things to someone we trust. So why do you keep some things back from the Lord as if He isn’t trustworthy? That’s what I was faced with when reading the book Absolute Surrender. I have no reason to not trust the Lord, and I probably wouldn’t outwardly say that, but I definitely live like I don’t often. This week was a pinnacle moment in my walk of recognizing I am not absolutely surrendered, but by the grace of God I am not stuck there. I now am learning daily how to surrender every thought, every plan, and every desire to the Lord as I am excited to continue to see all He does as I simply abide in Him. ...

Vida Nueva

“But what if we don’t need to sit back and wait for a call to foreign missions? What if the very reason we have breath is because we have been saved for a global mission? And what if anything less than passionate involvement in global mission is actually selling God short by frustrating the very purpose for which He created us?” Radical by David Platt This quote above was one that stuck out greatly for me in this past week’s reading assignment. Now what this isn’t saying is everyone needs to move to the mission field, that would be, as we say here….”no bueno”. But, it is saying we all have a part to play. This is what I have been praying about. “God, do you want to send me? Do you want me to stay? I am completely open, Lord use me as you see fit”. I am excited for how the Lord will continue to speak to me during these next 5 weeks about that and much more. Let’s look at how He has been moving this past week. I hope you are encouraged as you see how simple obedience affects those around us. ...

I Left Something at Home?!?!

Commonly used acronym definitions CSOM- Calvary School of Missions- 6 weeks program in Rosarito Mexico CCSG - My home church, Calvary Chapel Saving Grace MTS- Missions Training School- Missions program ran by CCSG Most of the time when we are in a rush we forget things, no matter how important they may be. But rarely are we grateful to leave something behind. I remember being at a dessert gathering for one of the MTS students at Saving Grace and she shared that when she was at CSOM she was told to write down all your future plans and goals…. and then throw it in the fire (literally). And she shared how she knew if it was the Lord’s plan it would come back and if not, He has an even greater plan. Thus, as I entered this new season of CSOM, I was encouraged by my leaders to come in as a blank piece of paper.I left it all at home. Every desire, every timeline, every expectation, good or bad, all written down and thrown in the fire. Fully surrendered and ready for all that God has for me. ...

Blooming Within the Pruning

A poem about His sovereignty It’s your power, it’s your plan. Above all my thoughts, above all of man. There I will rest, because your hand is great There I will be blessed, because you carry the weight. It’s not up to me, when I’m lost at sea. But you have the power to redirect me. Though life goes up and life goes down. I’m focused on ONE imperishable crown. So when I wonder, when I worry. Bring me back to that assurance of eternity. Thank you for how you lead, and how you guide. I am so in love with being your bride. ...

From Darkness to Light

Hi! Thank you first and foremost for taking the time to read all that the Lord has done in my life. My hope with every newsletter is to give God the glory and praise through these updates. So, without further ado….Introducing…me!Currently I serve in a couple different ministries at my church. During the week, I work at Calvary Chapel Saving Grace as part of the administrative team, where I regularly work on things such as our bulletins, graphics, our mobile app and more. I have been blessed to work on our SGWM side with missionary interviews and see all the Lord is doing around the world! I have a deep burden for the youth around me so I serve as a leader in our youth ministry and am heavily involved in our young adults group as well. Lastly I serve in our worship ministry where I play guitar and sing. At CCSG I am in a Missions Training Program with the goal of doing cross-cultural missions and sharing with those who may not have heard the Good News of Jesus Christ! But now let’s take a look at how the Lord brought me here.I grew up in a non-believing home where conflict was all too common. Slowly as I grew older, I started to form my own opinions on the world and what my purpose was. And, without Christ, there wasn’t much. So I filled those empty spots with a life of sin that slowly, but surely. brought me lower and lower until I was at rock bottom. I lost many friends and didn’t know what to do. But, as always God comes through. I started dating a boy who attended CCSG and I started to come because I could spend time with him. But it didn’t take long for the Lord to expose the sin in my heart and show me how desperately I needed Him. 4 months later I finally accepted that I couldn’t save myself, but I needed a Savior. This is when I decided to trust Jesus, and follow His plan for my life. Now that we are all up to date… let’s take a look at the present! My fellow Missions Training StudentsAs I mentioned before, I am a part of a Missions Training Program (MTS). Now, what is the Missions Training Program? It is a program offered by CCSG where I am being equipped in the word of God and learning what it looks like to run a church for the case that I might be a part of a new or existing church plant somewhere around the world. Typically, to begin that school I would have needed to complete a summer at the Calvary School of Missions(CSOM). But the Lord really opened a door for me to start beforehand and not waste any time to start getting equipped with the knowledge of His word and how to walk in that calling He has placed on my life. With that though, it means I still need to attend the Calvary School of Missions! So…I will be a part of 2024’s CSOM this upcoming summer! The Calvary School of Missions is a 6 week program in Mexico where you simply seek the Lord, get educated on the unreached, and be submerged in a setting where there is more missions training than you might notice. So that will be my next steps in this exciting new focus of my life. Focused on MTS until I get to CSOM and then we will see how God directs. I’m beyond grateful and excited to have you come alongside me in this fight. It’s not a physical fight, it’s a spiritual fight. And so I need prayer. We see in Ephesians 6 how much we need the armor of God. And not only that but that WITH prayer. 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. - Ephesians 6:18-20 NKJVPlease pray for me. Above anything else you think I may need, always begin and stay praying. I know these next steps are only possible with God and so I will be praying continually for His wisdom in every step I take. And I want to invite you to come alongside me in this work. We have an enemy. He is real. But, our God is greater. And life gets busy, but just as you have taken the time to read this newsletter, I ask you take time to pray for: ...
