I have been so blessed these last few months here at Calvary Chapel Pedregales serving with so many awesome people. We are a very active church, small but united, like a family, and the cool thing is that almost everybody in the church serves in some capacity! Here are a few events that I would like to share with you. Calvary Chapel Pedregales… We have had so many happenings here at C.C. Pedregales since my last post and I am still so honored and humbled to be a part of God’s work here. I say God’s work, because it is all Him; He directs and leads and guides and I just hold on to the steering wheel. Graduation Dinner… We closed out summer with our annual graduation dinner to honor all those who have graduated from: Primary, Secondary, High School, and College with a big fancy dinner for the graduate and their families. This is very special as many do not attend their school graduations for lack of funds. ...

Hello everyone! Greetings from Tijuana, Mexico! I wanted to share a little bit with you about what the Lord has been doing in my life here at CC Pedregales in these last few months. I am still overseeing the Children’s Ministry here at CCP (Calvary Chapel Pedregales). We average about 60 kids on Wed. and Sun. services. I am currently teaching the 9-11 year old class on Wed. nights as we are lacking a teacher for this class. It is a joy to be teaching again, as I’ve been out of the classroom for sometime now, focusing on teacher training. ...

Hello friends and family, Well, fall is here and we are grateful for the cooler weather! Summer was a blast here with the kids, we were able to take all 30 kids from our after school program “Amigos del Rey,” (friends of the King), to a water park near Ensenada! Only one child knew how to swim, it was crazy, but fun also. It was a day that these kids will remember for a very long time. For some, it was their first time ever in a pool. ...

Hola from beautiful Tijuana Baja CA. It has been too long since writing my last newsletter! Summer started with a bang here at Calvary Chapel Pedregales with our annual V.B.S. in JunCalvary Chapel Shoreline came again and supported us this summer funding the project. We averaged about 100 kids per day, for 5 days. The theme was “Agency D3”–Discover, Decide, Defend. It was a beautiful and fun way of presenting the gospel and then deciding what to do with all the evidence collected throughout the week of who Jesus was. It was a huge success, and the bretheren from Shoreline were awesome! They helped tremendously with the kids and even had time to build 6 picnic tables for our patio, a closet in Deanna’s house, and various other projects around the church. We are blessed to call them friends and pray that they will be back again next year. ...

Blessings to all who read this update! I am blessed as ever serving here at Calvary Chapel Pedregales and Tijuana. We just had a two day staff meeting at Pastor Chris’ house in Cantamar to plan out the activities at both churches for the entire year! Our minds felt a bit fried at the end, (well, at least mine did), but it felt good to get everything on paper. I am looking forward to a blessed 2013 and ready to be used by God how ever He desires to! ...

Summer is winding down, (although you wouldn’t know it with this heat)! We have no a.c. here in Tijuana, so thank Jesus next time you turn your a.c. on!! :) We had a fabulous Vacation Bible School this year. Our very own teachers planned the whole week, and many adults and youth from the churches helped out. Our theme this year was “Vida Salvaje” (Jungle life), and there was a different Bible verse each day that the kids memorized. Liliana made the Bible stories come to life with all of awesome scenery and sound effects. Once again, God provided!! A big thanks to those who were able to give to help purchase the snacks and all the materials…for this week. ...

Summer is in full swing at Calvary Chapel Pedregales, and the months prior have been very busy here in the Children’s Ministry, and in the church as well. Since Easter, (my last update), there has been events it seems like every month! We started with “Kid’s Day” on Apr. 30. This is a huge celebration for the children here in Tijuana. It’s similar to Mother’s and Father’s Day in the U.S., but Kid’s Day, (Dia del Nino), is a real big deal here! Well, the kids from CC Pedregales, together with the kids from CC Tijuana, jumped on the bus–(yes, we were able to rent two buses)!!, and headed out for a beautiful park here in Tijuana. It was a cowboy theme, and everyone had a great time!! The kids all wore different colored bandannas (according to the group they were in), and there were relay races, pinatas, cupcakes, prizes for the games, hot dogs, nachos, watermelon, a great drama, worship, all kinds of stuff! Some friends from CC Saving Grace joined us for this very special day. It was so nice for all who were able to go, and for some, it was their very first time at this park! ...

“Jesus is risen, He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!” I am blessed to serve the Lord with the children and people here in Tijuana. We had an absolutely wonderful, blessed Resurrection Day. We all gathered at our men’s discipleship home in Ensenada and heard the Good News of Jesus dying for our sins and being raised up the third day, then ate together and had fun fellowshipping and playing games together. The kids let lots of purple and white balloons go up, up, way up in the sky, just like Jesus went to be with his Father in heaven. ...

Hola family and friends, These past few months have been very busy for me, but I must say I am extremely blessed! There are always new challenges and lots of growing opportunities. This September, I accepted a teaching position at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Ensenada. I taught a Tues. morning class of 18 girls ranging in age from 16 to 50+. It is a bilingual college with students from Mexico as well as the U.S. One girl, Mary, came all the way from Nigeria, Africa! The class was based on the life of Ruth and focused on 10 qualities of a godly woman. It was clearly a challenge for me, as I teach children, and this was my first time teaching at an accredited college. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. I enjoyed the class thoroughly and Lord willing, will teach again in the fall of next year. ...
